First Look at Meng Zi Yi and He Yu Filming Period C-drama Blossoms of Powers

Filming started last month on period C-drama Blossoms of Power (Chinese title 百花杀 Bai Hua Sa or Hundred Flower Kill), and now the first unofficial stills are out from the set. Starring Meng Zi Yi and He Yu, this is one of the bigger budget and promising dramas slated to air in 2026, it’s adapted from a popular novel and reportedly the female lead role was highly sought after until it went to Meng Zi Yi right after she delivered a hit with Blossom. I love these first look pictures from set because it gives a preview of the costumes/hair/makeup and this one hits for me. Conversely, I still remember the collective outrage for poor Dilraba Dilmurat from the first stills out of Love Beyond the Grave, anyone with eyes was offended on her behalf and thankfully that led to tweaks for the remainder of the filming.

Meng Ziyi did NOT get the role after Blossom. She signed the contract in Oct 2024, but the filming was postponed. So she filmed San Xian Mi Hui first. Possibly because they were still looking for the actor for the ML role. The rumor for the ML kept changing before it finally landed on He Yu.
