Ahn Hyo Seob, Lee Min Ho, Chae Soo Bin, and Nana Gear Up for Part 1 of the Live Action Movie Adaptation of Omniscient Reader Viewpoint Releasing July 2025
It’s starting in earnest now, I mean the promos and preview for the K-movie live action adaptation of Omniscient Reader Viewpoint. The popular webtoon about a normal office worker reading an adventure apocalyptic webtoon which then turns into the live situation around him makes for a great live action take. Except that while I loved it when I read it three years ago, total marathon all chapters, but once I caught up then the live read gradually fell by the wayside because it kept leveling up. It went from apocalyptic monsters to demons to gods to aliens to whatever the heck the writer created to increase the difficulty of survival and keep the plot going with yet another challenge. But that issue doesn’t dog the front half of the webtoon which is being made into a multi-part movie so if part 1 of the live action movie sticks to the first arc then it should be fun and gripping. The leads are Ahn Hyo Seob, Lee Min Ho, Chae Soo Bin, Nana, Shin Seung Ho, and Jisoo, and many more interesting side characters and hopefully the snarkiest cutiest Dokkaebi ever. I’m now invested in re-reading the webtoon to re-familiarize myself with the characters and plot.

Trailer for Omniscient Reader Viewpoint:
I really miss Hyo Seop on screen again. I really don’t like his performances in dr romantic 3. It’s clear he is burn out. The moment He took a short hiatus after omniscient reader, i fell it make sense for his health. I really wish him luck in this movie. But it seems the fan of webnovel reader don’t like the change the movie made. But since I don’t read the webtoon let alone a webnovel, I will watch it with open mind (I read webnovel until 60 chapters but It’s just bored me to tears. I give up. maybe reading novel it’s not my think). I think this movie aim for less awards recognition, so don’t expected too much lol.
I never read the webtoon or anything. So the trailer looks good for me. Even LMH who people thought didnt suit the character looks good. look like his City Hunter era
I find the trailer look good too, better than I expected. But the webtoon and webnovel readers always complain no matters what. They ask for accuracy from the webnovel or webtoon. Which is clearly won’t happen.
I start to warm up with Lee MinHoo after watching the 1st 2 episode when the star gossip. He is not really bland like he often did in the king monarch. But I understand many complain because he is not fierce enough according to them.
I may be one of very few getting really tired of all the apocalyptical fantasy in K drama or K movie. The topic is overkill and has become stale. As much as I like AHS, the FL, and the supporting cast, the genre itself is something I’ll definitely avoid.
I thought this will be a full length drama given the premise and all the adventure, absurdities, and fun thrilling events. I wonder how they will squeeze all that in a two hour movie at most but if there’s a sequel I bet it will be a cliffhanger. I don’t know how to feel for the cast but I’m here for the story and execution.
Surprised to see LMH as supporting cast
