First Look at Son Ye Jin, Ji Chang Wook, and Nana in the K-drama Scandal Adapted from Movie Untold Scandal
I don’t think I’ve seen quite this shade of neon green in a Joseon hanbok before but here is Son Ye Jin rocking the electric dress in the first stills from the K-drama Scandal. It’s the drama adaptation of the movie Untold Scandal, which is itself adapting the novel Dangerous Liaisons. Son Ye Jin is the rich lady mastermind pushing profligate playboy Ji Chang Wook to seduce a poor chaste widow played by Nana for funsies. Of course complications and real feelings ensue and everyone just watches for all that sexy seducing and restraining plotting in this tale now as old as time.

I like both leads but don’t appreciate the French novel, Les Liaisons dangereuses, at all nor any adaptations of the book in the history. The story flaunts raw human desires. It will be a challenging projects for actors. But I have no stomach for the plot itself.
He looks odd for some reason. The women seem to fit the image more. It just does not suit him. Maybe it is the facial hair. Anyways not on my watch list. Will wait for these actors to do other projects. This is not my cup of tea story so yah I’m out.
He did fine in Empress Ki. I would never sell him short. I’ll wait and see.
Handsome as he is, JCW’s face doesn’t belong in a historical. Same goes for Nana. I like the three of them but this project strangely doesn’t appeal to me.
Have you seen him in Empress Ki? He looked great in it and didn’t look out of place in a historical drama setting. I agree tho that Nana kinda looks too modern for a historical drama, especially her very pouty lips lol, the term “smartphone face” comes to mind

The original with Yon Sama, Jeon Do-yeon and Lee Mi Sook is really hard to beat. As an adaptation of a French novel, they managed to incorporate Korean mores into their own version… Nana will find it hard to beat Jeon Do-yeon…
SYJ has said she doesn’t really like doing saeguks and this is probably only her second time to do one in her decades-long career. The Dangerous Liaisons story has been adapted multiple times, so I hope this version is worth watching!
This would be her 5th sageuks. 3 films 1 drama.
Actually it’s 3. I used the term saeguk loosely, but what I meant was projects where she wore a hanbok. I forgot about the Last Princess, so counting that, this is her 3rd hanbok-costume role.
Why do they keep remaking this story?
