Long Shelved Fantasy C-drama The Monkey King 3 with Bai Lu and Hou Ming Hao Gets Title Change and Rumored to Air this Summer
Well this is a blast from the past, so much so that one of the leads actually looks like a completely different person to today haha. A long ago filmed and been on the shelf fantasy period C-drama is reportedly getting dusted off and finally aired. The drama was titled The Monkey King 3 (女儿国 Nu Er Guo) and stars Bai Lu and Hou Ming Hao, but has gotten a title change to Wu Shuang (好女无双 Hao Nu Wu Shuang). Filmed in 2017 nearly a decade ago and before either leads became the big name stars they are today, this drama for whatever behind the scenes reason never got its distribution license and honestly most people even fans of the leads have forgotten about it. Which is why it’s so out of the blue to get this airing news but heck if it’s true then just drop it for the lolz factor since it will probably look outdated now on top of Hou Ming Hao looking like a zygote straight out of his school yard britches.

Maybe I’ve forgotten what most 18 year olds look like? Hou Ming Hao was like 18-19 when this started filming and he looks barely that. Anyways, he still surprisingly looks recognizably like himself, especially when you compare him to his I Am Nobody look. I was expecting a more drastic difference. Worried about his acting in this though since it was filmed so long ago and I felt like he only found his groove a few years ago.
Weird as heck. Lol. I’d be annoyed as the actors if my old work was released yeeeears later. Hahaha. He doesn’t look that different. They should stop whitening them so fiercely when editing though.
