First Trailer for Xianxia C-drama Live Long and Prosper with Dylan Wang and Li Qin Focuses on Comedic Second Life Angle
This might be a great week to drop the first trailer for xianxia C-drama Live Long and Prosper (咸鱼飞升 Xian Yu Fei Sheng). Male lead Dylan Wang has a small scandal and these days even bad news makes for buzz. The drama is yet another Dylan top billed big male lead project after Guardians of the Dafeng, and TBH the first preview makes it feel tonally so similar to Dafeng. It’s highly comedic and Dylan is just being a fish out of water weirdo type, and female lead Li Qin seems like she’s in her own separate drama being all proper and serious haha. The preview looks fine and the full supporting cast appears to have the potential to scene steal or at least add to the world building in a good way.

Lol another drama this mediocrity of a person will stink up.
I’m looking forward to it. Why not watch something different from the usual romances where all characters do is die for each other’s sake?
I like the premise of an unmotivated/unambitious cultivator but I think there’s another upcoming drama starring Ao Ruipeng called Pull Strings that will have the same premise.
Which one do you guys think will be more fun to watch?
I’m not a fan of Ao Ruping unless he is a 2nd ML. He isbnot impressive enough to carry a show.

I like Dylan in more comedic, less powerful roles. I feel like it’s hard to take him seriously as a serious, general/CEO type of guy.
I hope Li Qin’s FL role is actually interesting.
TBH, Dylan doesn’t have good comedic timing. His worst drama is Guardians of the Dafeng. GotD (pun intended lol) is riddled with slapstick comedy just for cheap laughs. lol
Dylan used to be extremely popular after his breakout role in Love Between Fairy and Devil. But it seems his popularity is currently threatened by other rising heartthrobs. lol
With his current heavy accent, he can’t do well as a male lead. I can’t take him seriously. It’s fine that he’s doing comedy, but even then, he’s not that funny. If they removed his voice, his acting would be more convincing. But he’s not comedic. Flirty and seductive suits him more.
