Zhang Ling He’s Next C-drama the Period Romance Revenge Reportedly Having Final Actress Casting Tussle Between Lu Yu Xiao and Yang Chao Yue
So period romance C-drama Revenge (Chinese title 刺棠 Ci Tang) is all but confirmed to star Zhang Ling He as the male lead and is his next drama with filming slated for this summer to start. The female lead has moved all over the place and the current two finalists are Lu Yu Xiao or Yang Chao Yue. Earlier rumored female lead Wang Yu Wen is out after her fandom was bullied by his for her not being popular enough to star with him. Last week it appeared that Lu Yu Xiao was going to be the female lead but this week a wrench was thrown in with the last minute discussion with Yang Chao Yue, due to Lu Yu Xiao also being shortlisted as the female lead for another drama from the same production company so word is she will take that one over this one since it’s more female lead heavy. If Zhang Ling He ends up with Yang Chao Yue as his female lead after all is said and done that would be ironic and hilarious.
Both are mehhhh. One doesn’t have deportment and poise for costume dramas. The other doesn’t have acting skills to carry a drama.
What the heck happened to Linmon? Have they got money to burn? Yang Chao Yue? And ZLH? Good lord. I hope Yang Chao Yue grew a thicker skin since C-netizens had her crying on the publicity tour for Love You Seven Times. ZLH fans are even more harsh.
I support both. Zlh and Lyx are from the same agency so I wonder how their agency will handle the fights between their fans if the production team were to cast her as the female lead. If the female lead is Ycy then maybe I’ll watch the drama just for their acting.
Happy to hear that LYX is looking at a female lead heavy drama! Having YCY as an option seems so random to me.
Lu yu xiao seems most likely due to her better track record with dramas than the latter. However, Lyx has been fairly busy filming dramas so who knows maybe they will choose ycy to save costs unless his fan base raises a stink about it in which I feel they would no matter what actress gets chosen.
Lu Yuxiao fits modern dramas better imo.
If they go for Yang Chaoyue, the flop will be guaranteed. Zhang Linghe won’t be able to carry the drama on looks alone and YCY seems to think that pouting is acting. Why on earth is this abysmal actress still inflicted on her co-stars and the audience?
It’s a shame that once again traffic is more important than skills in the casting decision, and some great source material is wasted. The novel had a very interesting setting but it would need actors with some real skills to bring these characters to life.
ZLH new drama with linyun trailer got me thinking damn he will never escape from his own drama poj, cause how can both look so similar despite claiming that he had heavy changes done for the role to avoid the general foundation remarks. Now whaterver role he will play we can be sure of foundation tag.Boy seems only concerned of his looks rather than acting.
As for LYX she is everywhere modern historical, xianxia but i think she only shined the most as 2nd character in MJTY among all her main lead play.She is all over that she never looks convincing for roles.
As for YCY, yeah she made huge fuss posting pictures saying she joined acting class now,so all is good.But i don’t have faith at all, because it seems she only changed her makeup styling to show acting, kinda korean styling makeup. Although she is a mess as a main fl but seeing her in evernight was ok, so she suits being 2nd characters more than being main fl cause girl can’t always carry drama withe her eye-popping stares and pout.
This drama whole casting is mess,aside from YCY, this LYX and ZLH agency are troublemakers who seems to beleieve more scandal more popularity, exposures, their agencies pattern never changes, we already seen it before,scandals, victimplay, sympathy gain, and famous. It seems they are not looking to make a good work but a controversial one which will give them more buzz.
ZLH’S fans deserve YCY. Hopefully they cast her so it would be a flop.
