First Look at Yu Shu Xin and Hou Ming Hao in Costume for New Xianxia C-drama Chang Sheng Gu — 13 Comments

    • The male lead actor has a very obvious plastic face, but you didn’t say anything about him.
If you’re going to be a hater, at least don’t be a misogynistic one.

  1. Go Esther! Shame on those writers who’s writing articles recently saying that this project can’t start cos there is no willing male lead. I like him on Back from the brink. Looking forward to it!

  2. Boring. These two uninteresting people aren’t tired acting in xianxia or fantasy. they have no career plan whatsoever. they sure be forever flat, forgetting marketing buzz is fleeting. they don’t seem like actors who would ever aim for golden eagle, magnolia or Feitian awards—oh well. Popularity awards is enough loll

    • Its not that they don’t want to. They can’t. Esther’s acting falls flat whenever she doesn’t overdo the cutesy act to get attention, and Hou Minghao’s face has undergone so much surgery he looks constipated so he can only do costume dramas to hide his bad acting. In a way they are perfect for each other.

    • Stop the BS. Besides xianxia or wuxia dramas, did you see any other genre do well and attract views, ALL actors will never give up on these genres, so go and watch another country drama if ur bored , and stop polluting the Chinese drama articles comment section

      • There are realistic/serious/mainstream dramas from mainstream actors. These dramas are popular too in China. Some idol actors are trying to expand their career by accepting roles in realistic/serious dramas (it’s good for their career longevity) but it will take time to be completely transformed/be accepted into this territory. Meanwhile some idol actors are still stuck in their ‘comfort zone’ by filming idol romance dramas back to back. Idol actors have a shorter career span, they need to slowly transform into mainstream ‘territory’ before it’s too late for them. But it’s up to them.

  3. So much hate on here. I like them both just fine and who is not either nip tucked or type casted. Too many of your favorites have done so and then some. It’s all the same for me. It all depends on the drama and its execution and that is where I feel it has been rough for awhile now in c-drama land. Many endings have felt so underwhelming lately that it takes the buzz and excitement away of a potentially good drama.

  4. That ComfitCupid pic of Hou Ming-hao looks AI-ed to hell and back. Don’t understand fans who edit their idols’ pics to the point where they don’t even look anything like their idol. Not feeling Esther’s costume either. I’ve seen her sexier wearing a t shirt.
