Xianxia C-drama Love in the Shell with Yu Shu Xin and Hou Ming Hao Resumes Filming After Short Kefluffle with Maybe Replacing the Male Lead
Year ago this drama’s ups and downs wouldn’t even generate much gossip but in the year where there are so few current dramas filming this is definitely gotten attention. Xianxia C-drama Love in the Shell (长生骨 Chang Sheng Gu or Long Life Bone) starring Yu Shu Xin and Hou Ming Hao is back to filming, which normally isn’t a weird thing except a few weeks ago it nearly went sideways. The leads have been engaged in a fandon fight since their casting, and on set interactions have been professional veering on frosty. Well reportedly it came to a head a few weeks ago when Yu Shu Xin tried to play a trump card that she was going to get Hou Ming Hao fired and replaced. His side then took a few days of vacation and shut down filming, basically calling the bluff, and of course production didn’t replace him and coaxed him back on set. Filming is more than halfway done and both leads have been doing lots of fan service for their respective fandoms with pap walks so it’s just going to be entertaining as well to see how their non-chemistry off screen can translate to whatever chemistry if any onscreen.
If any lesson from Zhoa Lusi, and this is not about health, then suck it up and finish the drama. Then going forward, every male lead will want to avoid Yu Shu Xin; what a horrid person.
Koala I think you should check your info before posting, this drama never stop filming because of fanwars. The last time, all production in Hengdian shut down it because there was typhoon warning. So pause in shooting not only for drama Love in the shell. Please go and check from other resources other than from 🍵 ZLS followers. YSX never get rejected by any MLs rumoured in drama melon. Even like HMH, his fans disagreed but he accepted the offer. There so many proofs that ZLS the one rejected by many actors. Even for the recent drama melon from: SWL, XK and WZM. I have all the receipts, too bad can’t upload photo here.

Hm, I find this hard to believe. I thought they were both pretty well liked by co-stars. Neither seems like a diva to stop filming because of fan wars. Fan wars are run by fans and most times not encouraged at all by the actors. I guess any kind of drama is encouraged to draw audiences and build up hype.
If YSX isn’t dubbed by a voice actor, I might just skip this drama, even though I’ve started to really enjoy Hou Minghao’s acting and visuals. At least in Love in the Clouds, Lu Yuxiao had a cute face and her expressions were actually on point sometimes although her breathy line delivery was also funny. lol
Hooray to more Esther. Not sure how i feel about HMH. He can be kind of greasy with love delivery. Even in LITC I didn’t feel his chemistry with LYX, but part of that might be because i find LYX’s line delivery very weak – someone get the girl some energy drinks so she can deliver her lines with power and thus not distract me from focusing on the relationship and 2) the actual love plot wasn’t convincing either. LYX’s voice worked in Journey because she was supposed to be a seductress and working in the shadows. For other roles, she needs to focus on vocal strength.
But Esther is a chemistry queen. She can make most platonic vibes sizzle. So hooray!
Not feeling the pairing, but after all this brouhaha with their crazy fans, I’m waiting for them to burn up the screen together and make their fans gnash their teeth in anger.
Also, production had paused because of the typhoon alerts.
