Wang An Yu Likely Cast as Male Lead Opposite Meng Zi Yi in Hunan TV Big Budget Period C-drama Have It All
This drama is on deck to start filming in Q1 2027 but it’s one of the few big budget productions being prepped right now so worth covering. The female lead for Hunan TV period drama Have It All will be Meng Zi Yi, she’s been confirmed and announced since a few months now. The male lead is now almost certainly Wang An Yu, who for me has a very nondescript presence onscreen. He’s like lukewarm tea lol, but at least he’s a good actor and seeing him just makes me wish for more stars that can combine charisma with acting but more often than not it’s bifurcated. I’m also concerned with these two pairing up as I just don’t see their combo working, she looks like she will eat him alive onscreen just by staring daggers into his forehead haha. Oh wells, if investors want to bet on these two be my guest.
An odd pairing for sure, but who knows! It might actually work. Let’s just hope MZY isn’t playing a genius Wonder Woman character yet again lol. Honestly, I have nothing to say about WAY. His acting has always been completely forgettable to me.
I’d rather see a Mary Sue guy than a naïve, clumsy damsel in distress, which used to be the recurring trope in C-dramas many years ago. Gary Stus are more common (like Wang Xing Yue’s character in The Double), but they’re little talked about. LOL.
Women idealize men with Gary Stu characteristics, so I guess they avoid criticizing characters like that because of it.
Does Jia Shikai have no other artist to hype? I’m so tired of her!

I still believe he looks better in modern setting. I hope whatever wig they give him works out. Also republican era might suit his feautures aswell. Guess we wait and see if they will generate enough chemistry. She has been on a roll with the amount of historical dramas she has been apart of. Has she done any modern? I feel she should change it up and try other era dramas.
I dont feel Wang An Yu can really carry a big budget drama… he is a okay artist for me.. If investors are keen to invest in him, it will be a great opportunity for him. Good luck.
I wish they’d stop pairing her with baby face actors. She’s not old by any means, but I do think she has a more mature vibe. Both Dylan and Wang Anyu exude more boyish charm. I just don’t see it working visually.
Also, are there no other actresses? I feel like she’s everywhere lately. I used to like her from Ever Night, but her last few roles have been so repetitive and boring.
I have weirdly never watched a Wang An Yu drama even though he’s been in the industry for quite some time.
Meng ZiYi has so many dramas lined up that I feel like 2027 and 2028 will just be back-to-back Meng Ziyi. I hope this character will be different from her usual.
