Dylan Wang and Liang Jie in Talks for Tencent Modern Romance C-drama 28th Year Spring — 28 Comments

  1. Don’t know why but it seems quite awhile since she lead a drama. Guess I was used to seeing her do back to back dramas then all of a sudden she kind of took a back seat. This has happened to quite a lot of actresses lately. I hope it works out for her cause I find her to be a good actress.

    • Because actors make questionable script choices. I mean, Fang Yilun would have brought a lot to The Glory (2025), but he decided to do The Belles instead.

The Belles is a lower-budget production. The only redeeming qualities were Lin Yun’s beauty and charm, and Fang Yilun’s acting.

      • I don’t know if that’s the case for Lin Jie, though. But there are quite a few good underrated actors in C-biz who have turned down offers that could have put them in the spotlight. Or perhaps they’re like Kim Jae Wook in the sense that they prefer playing characters they find interesting (as he himself has said) rather than prioritizing solid scripts. LOL.

  2. Liang Jie? Really, until the contact are signed and filming started, I will wait and see. I cannot imagine Dylan huge followings will stay quiet.

  3. Fans of Wang Hedi, Chen Zheyuan and Zhang Linghe have one common denominator: they believe that they are close to Xiao Zhan’s popularity level.😭😂

They like to start fanwars, yet they are not able to handle the heat, and they end up playing the victims.

    • Is Zhang linghe not closer to Xiao Zhan’s popularity? I dont know such news as I dont follow those data. But I do like Xiao Zhan..

      • They’re both actors, not influencers lol. The main conversation should be about their talent. It surprises me that fans of Asian dramas jump right in to talk about and brag about numbers, but rarely mention quality and talent, and then, ironically, complain that there are no artistic values. Lmao.

There are a lot of talented and good-looking actors in C-Ent who don’t have strong backers to put them on the radar so they can become “liuliangs”.

      • It is easy to find English-speaking fans of Zhang Linghe writing horrible things about Xiao Zhan. Kudos to them for working hard to convince others that Xiao Zhan fans started the attacks I guess. They are depraved and mentally corrupt.

      • Xiao Zhan doesn’t need the truckload of makeup that Zhang Linghe wears on his face, ijbol. I hope Foundation General can be reimagined in a reality where he actually has ACTING CHOPS. He may be hyped up right now, but let’s see if he can keep the momentum going. One-hit wonders come and go. But then, they can’t even get viewers hooked on their lousy dramas because their performances are lackluster. I remember when Wang Xing Yue’s fans used to say he was going to be at the top, but we can see The Double success was hard for him to handle lol.

Even pompous Chen Zheyuan is more convincing as an actor.

    • Aren’t you also trying to start fan wars by mentioning Xiao Zhan here, even though there’s no connection between him and the article?

You Xiao Zhan fans are always trying to shove him down everyone else’s throats too. Or you’re doing it on purpose so that people speak ill of him.

      • it’s time you acknowledged that there are some huge lunatics in Xiao Zhan’s fandom. I’m not a fan of either of them, but it’s common that whenever an actor is on the rise, XZ fans swarm out like a pack of sharks. I saw them desperately denying that Pursuit of Jade broke records overseas.

      • I was thinking the exact same thing. Although Xiao Zhan is still my favorite, I constantly see vitriol directed at other rising young actors from his fandom. I just LOL at these fan wars. It feels like they are completely insecure about the success of up-and-coming talent. Now, I’m ready for rabid fans to gaslight me into believing I’m not a real fan. lol

      • Lmao Xiao Zhan is not your favorite and never was. You have been a XZ anti since say one. Did you think we forgot when you showed up on Reddit and caused so much trouble?

Keep crying with other XZ antis and foundation general fans.

Xiao Zhan and his fans are too busy attending his concerts and watching his dramas.

      • LOL. You can’t help taking the bait. I don’t make comments on Reddit since I don’t even have an account to begin with. Some XZ rabid fans have serious mental gymnastics going on. lmao.

  4. I wonder what about the project made it go around the block a few times. I don’t vibe with Liang Jie’s acting much, but I’m glad she is in talks for a main lead role after the furor over her taking a support role in Ci Tang. I do wish it would be easier for actors to switch between support and lead roles since some of the lead roles have very little meat to them.

  5. Liang Jie is so out of the left field. Like randomly there’s news about her taking a support role recently and now she’s going to be partnered with Dylan? That’s a huge stretch. Her aesthetics and acting skills aren’t on par, but then again, he’s been partnered with worse.

  6. Dylan has to work on his line delivery first. Even if Liang Jie isn’t a stunning beauty, her acting is more convincing than many other leading ladies in C-ent. Plus, Her Mandarin is good and her voice is totally checked too. lmao. IMO, LJ is definitely a better actor than Dylan.
