Collective Viewer Rage and Frustration at the Rapidly Falling Apart Plot in the Final Arc of Marry My Husband Dominates Discussion of the Hit Drama — 31 Comments

  1. Oh, the ex is not in the webtoon?? No wonder she seem so out of place… I am really not enjoying this right now as it is just going in circles for me…..

I will watch last eps just to see the end. And I stopped at eps12…and watch 3mins Fast Forward of eps 13,14.

Supporting actors are doing a good job but their characters are just getting over dramatic(Not acting fault, just bad storyline)

    • Oh Yura isn’t in the webtoon, but she is in the web novel. The webtoon took out her character because she was obviously unnecessary… sigh. I liked BoA before as a K-pop idol but her new face and foray into acting is just plain bad.

    • I heard the original novel has the ex, and the drama is following more towards the novel. But yeah, I’m disappointed to hear that the plot isn’t gonna recover, haven’t watch the latest episodes yet though.

      • So it is Novel then Webtoon then Drama… I see.. the drama follows the novel.

I am not watching till last eps just to see how they plan to wrap up this drama.

      • I do think the latest episodes were a step up from #12 – I really love the acting from everyone else, and all 4 leads had some big emotional moments they delivered on. But the new lady, though she exists to power up our existing villains, doesn’t have the emotional grounding or connection to our protagonist to work. Hope she’s got rid of so we can spend more of the finale with our OGs.

    • The ex fiance is also in the webtoon but she was just mentioned. She wasn’t actually part of the story if I recall lol. BoA just looks too old from what I imagined the fiance is gonna be. She’s supposed to be on the same age as Na In Woo (sigh). Now, it looks like a crazy sugar mommy who wants her sugar baby boy back. So weird.

  2. BoA can’t act to save her life and they made her the main character. I am fast forwarding at the speed of light.

Another problem is that the main leads chemistry is very poor so it’s an added negative.

  3. I’m still liking the drama so far in spite of. In my opinion they should have cut it and made the drama shorter to 12 eps. The main leads performances are still satisfying and yes the second leads are good but also getting old, dunno why it seems they’re being hyped up or making it seem like they’re overshadowing the leads which to be clear, they’re not.

    • Because obv the second leads have better acting chops and more intresting than the main leads esp Song Ha Yoon

Just read all the korean cooments

    • It should be a requirement to have scripts finished prior to filming… I’m convinced that the vast majority of Kdrama writers panic once they get to the final 4 episodes and try to cram in all sorts of nonsense to end their stories.

  4. Remove BoA character and shorten the drama to 12 episodes will probably be more satisfying to watch. The 4 main characters are still ok, they are just acting in circles around an nonsense script while waiting for Superman to come save the world. LOL.

  5. The most interesting characters in this show are the second leads. The evil ex-husband is my favorite character. He’s comically bad. It’s hard to strike the balance between humor and despicability, but the actor manages to do it.

The male lead is blander than white toast. The character himself is the male version of a Mary Sue, and the actor makes an already flat character even flatter. He’s so bland it’s nauseating. I rather watch BOA than him.

    • I thought I’m the only one who feel the ML is bland, because everyone else are going crazy for NIW, I just thought maybe I have bad eyes LOL

      • Viewers are going crazy for the ML because he’s written to be a perfect man that they can project all their romantic fantasies onto. His characterization is extremely one dimensional, and the actor’s acting is even more one dimensional.

  6. I just rushed to watch ep 13 & 14 to see what provoked viewers to bitch. LOL.
Not bad at all. It’s not getting worse nor getting more exciting. I have no idea of what makjang is supposed to look like. If a drama is interesting, then it’s interesting regardless of whether the plot development makes sense or not. Time travel itself doesn’t make sense already. Therefore, why should we expect the plot to be all logical and sensible? This drama has been watchable throughout but not that exciting from the get-go. As I noted several times, it’s the 2nd leads’ acting that impresses me and the arcs between the OTP are not that appealing as it was supposed to. And I agree BoA looked bad both visually and acting-wise. She is another sad example of PS not aging gracefully. LOL

  7. I’m just watching it to swoon over Ha Do-Kwon.

People are complaining but the ratings are high. So production won’t change in the future. People actually loves this kind of makjang…

  8. I’m still watching it but they could have made it in a 12 episodes drama as Perfect revenge marriage . I don’t know who have the great idea to cast Boa !!! The good thing is that i begin to rewatch Children of nobody . LJK is so good it’s like wacthing two diferent actors . If in MMH he is the guy that you don’t want in your life , in CON he is charismatic and sexy ! I want him to play a “serious role ” in another drama !

  9. The drama is veering into makjang territory and for me I am thoroughly entertained.

BoA’s acting sticks out a like a very sore thumb. I am not even a Korean speaker but her enunciation of words is a huge turn off. I really wish they’d gotten a trained actor to handle her role, she’s too jarring and constantly gets me out of immersing myself in the drama.

The leads and second leads are lovely as always. I have to give kudos again to Lee Yi Kyung and particularly Song Ha Yoon – and their choice to portray themselves as people with flaws rather a one-note caricature (like Oh Yura) it’s clear that Sumin is a villain, but you just can’t help but feel sorry for her as she paves her way to hell in a handbasket.

I am thoroughly enjoying the drama still and am sad that my Mondays and Tuesdays will be empty when this drama ends next week.

  10. Looks like Koala is upset her favourite drama Dr. Slump’s ratings have halved (maybe there was collective viewer rage there) while the drama she doesn’t want to watch is a ratings hit in Korea and Prime. It still dominates the ratings and even after Episode 14 of the drama was released early by mistake on prime and those clips got uploaded on naver, the drama still maintained 11 percent ratings. So the collective viewer rage is a big lie. Marry My husband is so much better than many dramas out there and even when the audience had issues with some plot points, they still love the main leads and supporting characters.

    • Makjang dramas will always get love from the locals no matter what. The more interesting and ludicrous it gets, the better it is for them.
If you check the highest rated dramas in both free tv and cable, they are all makjang.
I think Koala is just repeating what she read from Korean news sites.
