Rumors Abound that Tencent Will Airdrop All Episodes of Period Romance C-drama The Prisoner of Beauty with Liu Yu Ning and Song Zu Er on Monday September 2nd

So, er, Monday September 2nd is tomorrow when this rumor first started but could be today already for you read the news. C-netizens are abuzzing that Tencent is going to airdrop ALL episodes of C-drama The Prisoner of Beauty on Monday the 2nd, and true or not this is totally newsworthy. The drama is high budget and high profile, with leads Song Zu Er and Liu Yu Ning probably as perfectly cast as the novel leads described with a story that is either love it or hate it. And the hate it bunch don’t hate it as much as they don’t like the set up – hot, sexy, angry male lead and beautiful beyond compare smart female lead, arranged marriage, and a lot of family generational conflict, but doesn’t stop the copious amounts of married sex lol. This novel was a blast to read on a 13-hour cross Pacific flight for me and knowing the drama was filmed got me even more excited until Song Zu Er got into her tax scandal. Now that the penalty is assessed last week perhaps Tencent thinks just drop it now before anything else changes.

Preview for The Prisoner of Beauty:

  2. Pretty sure they will skip all the hot stuff
The novel was super R rated hahahaha
Anyway I’m for dropping it – it’s not the entire teams fault that one person broke the law: plus it’s taxes not murder. Sigh

  3. I like Liu Yuning of the earlier days. Less make up. These days they seem to be dressing him in the most gaudy costumes and piling on the make up. He’s better when he keeps it simple and lets his intensity do the talking like in The Long Ballad.
Both of them look so good in this drama.

    • Too much makeup? I thought it’s the trend in costume drama. Their makeup for both male and female are all quite heavy. The eyeliner and all…. Hahaha…
