So I’ve made my own determination as to whether C-actress Zhao Lu Si recently has undergone tweaks to her appearance, i.e. plastic surgery or merely non-invasive cosmetic procedures. My personal take on this is do whatever makes you happy until it affects your job, so for actors and actresses the line is when the change(s) look distracting for the viewer. Zhao Lu Si attended a brand event this past week and from it came a slew of media articles that she’s done something to her face because she looks noticeably different. Her makeup artist posted a long defense that it’s all just makeup artistry plus photo lighting, and her agency released a statement vowing to take legal action against anyone defaming her. I love her so much as a talented and hardworking young actress so this is tough to see happening but it does come with the territory of being an actress to be critiqued for looks.

@ HL , she is still special in her own way just like every body and that does not change just because a person want to have a different look using make-up (I understand what u r implying). If it’s just make-up and lighting then change it asap because it looks bad on her. If it’s plastic surgery, we’ll, what is done is done. I still love her but I hope she puts on a pound or two and stop trying to look like a 40 year old Diva.
Koala, all i know is Lusi has been doing makeup by herself and it written has part of the information of her styling team. She has been doing it throughout LA shooting and she just put on a vlog days ago explains her make-up routine has her character in LA where u see both natural face and her make-up face.
I still think she hasn’t done any PS and u can tell from ur photos u just posted, the first picture her nose looks large depending on the camera angle and the third pic the close up shoot her nose looks slimmer and u can see the contours and highlights. With her recent weight loss, it looks like she has grown out of her youthful features couple with a different in make-up routine.
She has obviously lost a lot of weight. She might have shed a lot of youthful baby fat. She still looks Zhao Lusi. LOL. But I’m not sure if I like her new makeup style.

Clearly works has been done but they using makeup/weight as an excuse. We have eyes. That being said, there’s nothing wrong w/ a little work done.
There are enough YouTube and Instagram videos that show how much makeup magic can be done on a face to make it entirely different. I’ve seen so many that had made me gone wow. Just last year’s Indian wedding makeup challenge that trended on every social media is a prime example.
As for LuSi, I don’t know if she did or not. She looks great, albeit too thin (but that’s what all her critics wanted since they cruelly callled her fat). I do know that she looked the part for her character in Love’s Ambition. She definitely wanted to make a statement with this part and she certainly has succeeded. Good for her. Can’t wait to see what’s her next surprise. She’s like Taylor Swift in her talent in using social media to keep herself being obsessed over. Good for her again!

Maybe her make up artist can safe herself the time it takes to write a lengthy note by posting a picture of her without the make up? I dont see anything super complicated on her face just lip fillers and nose fillers. Her eyes could be surgery but those are normal to look different with makeup. Nose and lips dont magically appear that different with makeup, contour makeup is too heavy and it would look on camera and screen. It reminds me of kylie jenner denying her lip fillers and saying its a new technique and later revealing she lied. People need to realize that celebrities do LIE. I noticed that she has so many black hs lately, her competitors agency are probably having a field day escalating this issue. The 95 flowers competition seem to be heating up and fortunaly/unfortunately she is the top flower and the one they will be trying to take out.

😆, her nose bridge has always been high with a cleft underneath it, which is still there. As for the rest u can just watch her make-up volg she put online some days ago,where she explains her character looks has Xan Yu in LA by starting with natural face and doing the makeup routine herself, that will explain ur answer on lips, brow,nose, eyes and even cheeks.

I think most sane people don’t really care if celebrities get work done, we know that it’s unfortunately part of a celebrity’s job to look their best and it’s understandable that they would use the many, many resources that are easily available for them, such as the procedures and expensive skin treatments that us mere mortals don’t even know about. Again, I said SANE people, so please don’t reply to me saying “But the antis will use that to bash celebrities!” Antis and haters are not normal, sane people. Like the other comments here said, anyone with eyes can see she looks hella different and it’s not just because of makeup and weight loss. She has been Wonyoungified, with her new sleepy eyes and pouty lips. Her nose tip also used to be downturned and it seems that it’s been lifted now to give a more upwards angle, and that’s probably why her philtrum (area between center upper lip and bottom of the nose) is now a bit longer and more visible.

The two pics are taken from the same angle and you can see how different her features look even without the heavy makeup, so I don’t believe the makeup artist saying she looks different “just because of different makeup style”. Her face is also way slimmer and more oval whereas it was more round before.

With so many videos now on YouTube analyzing what procedures celebrities got, many people are now more aware about how even a subtle surgery can make a difference in looks. It just doesn’t makes sense to blatantly lie about this stuff.
I read a blog way back then about how a certain Korean idol-actress got a bunch of stuff done, but very subtly over the years, so you’ll only realize there are so many changes in her face when you put her pictures side by side. The blogger said that this idol-actress has been smart about it because she never denied having work done but also never admitted it either, she just never comments about it and that’s why she’s rarely mentioned in online discussions about which celebrities got work done. I think that’s what celebrities should just do, tbh, just don’t comment about it, especially when the changes are so obvious, like in this case. That’s way better than blatantly lying about it. Many people would be understanding, anyway, as she’s always been bashed for looking average or ordinary.
For the record, I totally understand why she got work done as looks are a big part of the entertainment business, sadly, and that doesn’t make her a bad person. I just don’t like the blatant lying. And I just hope she stops right now and don’t get more stuff done because her appeal to a lot of people is that she’s girl-next-door pretty, which makes people feel like she’s “reachable”, for lack of better words. I love ZLS so much, but I believe my eyes more. And the changes I see in Lusi is a lot more than makeup and weight loss. It’s better to admit it, or at least not talk it. But denying what is obvious to many viewers is a way of gaslighting and doesn’t sit right with me. There’s so much spin in the media these days that honest words have more credibility. It’s a bad move by her makeup artist and team, particularly because the changes she made are not subtle, and were done ‘all at once’ and not over time.
And I agree with HL’s comment above, her unique charm is cute girl next door, it’s what distinguished her from other actress and was her personal brand, so to speak. It’s unfortunate that she wishes to dissociate herself from what attracted so many audiences to her, but that is her choice. Now she just looks like a plastic version like any kdrama idol/actress. I respect her choice even though personally I feel saddened by it. It’s unfortunate that the industry puts so much pressure on actresses forcing them to make changes to fit in, rather than just being themselves. There are so many different looks, shapes and sizes that are beautiful in this world so why not see a representation of that onscreen instead of the same generic look?
I’ve always said she has a good head on her shoulders, so she must have thought out these changes strategically and is preparing herself to go for certain roles with her new look.

I’m not sure if the changes can be attributed to the industry, though. I have the impression it’s her own personal choice to look more mature and sexy, like so many young women around the world who change their whole style and even get cosmetic surgeries to look less cute and girly. Ironically, older women do everything to look younger instead. Oh well.
It does feel like gaslighting to me. They’re gaslighting us to believe our eyes are wrong. The more her and her fans fight it, the more people will scrutinize her appearance.
