Liu Xue Yi and Ai Mi Reportedly Confirmed for Xianxia C-drama Love Travels Through Time Despite the MASSIVE Age Difference — 23 Comments

  1. Has female leads finished in China? There’s nobody else in the whole of C-ent that can convincingly play her role?! Moreover, what are her parents thinking!!!! If the ML doesn’t have sense at least her parents should! She’s 16!!!!!!! Father Abeg ohhh!

    • Parents selling out their children to agencies and studios for fame without giving proper protection – it’s a tale as old as time :/

At first I thought it would just be two adults with an abnormal age gap but…she’s UNDERAGE at 16???

  2. Liu Xueyi seems to be in the same pickle with his agency as Jeremy Tsui was. Having ever younger (and moderately talented) co-stars forced on him until he had to announce his retirement to get out of it. I hope Liu XueYi will manage to get out of there before it is too late.
Contrary to what many people think, the majority of these actors have very little say in the choice of the dramas they are cast in or who their co-stars are. Only some very high-profile people can pick and choose.

    • What do you mean having ever younger costars forced on him? Isn’t this his first one? Although I definitely think the age gap is too much for me and I hope this casting rumor isn’t true. If it is, it’s probably one of the biggest ones to date.

His last few dramas that aired are with like Ju Jingyi, Zhong Chuxi, and Wu Jinyan, who are all in their 30s. The dramas that haven’t aired have Tang Yan, and Meng Ziyi. The youngest is MZY who is in her late 20s. Jeremy had it way worse being paired up back to back with people like Yang Chaoyue, Ouyang Nana, Zhou Jieqiong,

  3. Ught… disgusting. Can they find someone with similar age? She’s only 16.. i hope they will change the script. He is the father!!! Aigoo.. i cant imagine her being in love with an uncle. Especially when she’s underage.

  4. It’s not that big of a deal people. They are actors. It’s Asian culture too. There might not be any physical due to her age. To know that an actual actress plays the right age part of the character will make the drama feel accurately. We are suppose to feel uncomfortable.

  5. No.

Unless she plays his daughter or niece, I feel very, very sorry for him. He couldn’t have picked this.

WHAT is his agency thinking? Isn’t she still underaged? She’s 16 wtf!

  6. As young as she is though, she is a very good actress but I agree thrusting her into a romance with an older actor so soon seems a bit much. Don’t know if she will film this asap or maybe much later till she is slightly older but normally there won’t be much skinship when the actors are so young but implied but we will see. The main actor is not a bad actor but still does not seem there yet in status to be paired with a good lead actress and a script with a great impact to get him there. Maybe it is his agency who knows. Also some of his dramas seem to have been cancelled or not yet released which is a bummer. To me the script and production is what should matter and lately some dramas in general have had potential but seem to fizzle out to mediocre levels toward the end. Like they don’t know how to make decent conclusions whether happy or sad ones. I don’t see this drama mentioned yet on her upcoming dramas. Will wait to see.

  7. If I remember correctly, FL of “Princess agents 2” (aka Chu Qiao) whom her name I don’t remeber is an underage. That’s becoming an awkward trend I suppose. Have they run out of adult actors/actresses? As a teenager they should play the roles according to their age. Even if the story is super good, the drama would be stained by this negative factor.

  8. this guys is always creepy😬
netizens haven’t forgotten yet him getting caught by papz in 4k fornicating with YZ at midnight while still in relationship with ZYX !

  9. ppl who saying this creepy ,don’t you think that unfair for LXY , he is a top actor who actually can act , now somehow he should wary of a newbie actress WoW that ridiculous, she got some good resources so she got a role with veteran actor if anyone think this appropriate then she should be the dropping out not him , this should have nothing to do him .

    • I don’t think many of the commenters are blaming the actor, they are more like blaming his agency for this fiasco. It’s quite apparent that many actors of his caliber have little say over their costars and projects. Jeremy Tsui is another example. I truly feel sorry for him in this scenario.

  10. I just saw rumours saying LXY rejected this drama. So it’s very much safe to say everything being said so far are rumours. I guess you all should be patient and wait for real official information.
Are these rumours being made to ruin LXY’s reputation? No doubt. His career is doing well so there will be people wanting to ruin it. We’re talking about China’s ent business and we already know that people are very well paid to destroy careers of actors with rumours as weapons so a very lucrative industry comes out of it.

    • Ruining artistes career are very common practise… to be able to stay strong above them is really tough… Keeping as clean a slate is no.1… but there will be other forms of attacks.
Just looking at Zhang Zhehan, he is blacklisted due to past tourism photos. Gosh, just how unfortunate can it get?

  11. Yikes! Hoping he’s the older version of the ML and she’s the younger version of the FL and the younger version of the ML and older version of the FL are still waiting to be cast. Ai Mi would also have restricted filming hours because she’s a minor so it seems more prudent with going with an older actress.

And these are just casting rumors. Could end up with a whole new ML and FL or the drama could get scrapped.

  12. I have a soft spot for LXY. He reminds me of a kid, even though I know he’s in his 30s. Poor guy never really catches a break. He’s a good actor, but always getting crappy roles and gets stuck in xianxia where he has to climb all these high ass mountains lmao. He seems like a good goofy guy
