Zhao Lu Si in Discussions Period C-drama with Zhang Ling He Reportedly Falls Through as its the Same Director as Her Unfinished Drama Almost Lover
Awww bummer I would have LOVED to see these two work together. C-ent casting gossip is saying that Zhao Lu Si was in talks for a period romance C-drama titled Yue Luo Hua Du 月落花都 which means Moon Falling on Flower Capital and if it was finalized would be her first drama since her medical hiatus four months ago. The male lead has been offered to Zhang Ling He for awhile, and if this pairing came to fruition it would be their first time working together. But now the casting rumor says Zhao Lu Si will not be the female lead as the director of this drama is the same director who worked with her on her last drama Almost Lover which remains unfinished due to her medical hiatus and the two did not work well together and had conflict on the set of that drama. This is a bummer if true but I have no concerns that Zhao Lu Si will pick a drama that works for her as her next project whatever it ends up being.
They would’ve made an interesting pair but I would like to see them in a modern drama instead.

I believe it concluded with her re-signing with her agency who was also forking up money for some of the cost of production, in order to shoulder responsibility and costs for the unfinished drama.

Zhang Ling He is busy. Thought I just saw he will be cast in another drama a week or two ago. But, he is my new fave. I enjoy watching him in The Best Thing and I hope he makes more modern series.

Lusi is a professional thru and thru. You can see how dedicated she is to her craft. If Almost Lover director played nice, AL would have been another hit. I remember he went all the way to Lusi’s filming location just to convince her to work with him. If he treated Lusi well there wouldn’t have been problems. It’s a pity bec the ML has such good chemistry with Lusi. It’s also a pity that Lusi won’t get to work with Zhang Linghe. They would have been another great CP.
I don’t understand why some people love her so much but hate other actress like Yang Mi. This girl seems to play the same character, herself,in everything she does. I don’t know , I guess it’s just me and still being so angry about how the sequel to Ancient Love Poetry was just, NO
Ugh yang mi is more popular than lusi in china. She’s the senior in the industry already, plz dont compare them, they are totally different person with totally different backgrounds. Yangmi background is strong

I too, think it’s too soon for her to start filming a drama if the medical reports I heard were true. I hope she can rest up some more even though I understand the demands of her profession.
I’m not worried, there would be other dramas in future and other opportunities for them to work together if the stars align. They are both young with their futures ahead of them.
Don’t think she is set to join any drama production soon seeing as she’s now sporting red hair. Dramas usually require the leads to have black or dark brown hair unless it’s some temporary hairstyle that will change to black/dark brown hair later when the lead becomes more “mature” or “proper”.
@lilith… Even if she does feel well enough to film a drama…I am unsure many investors is ready to take such a risk yet. Especially with current economy situation in China, many are very cautious now. I may be wrong…
If I’m an investor, I wouldn’t want to take the risk either. Especially when there’s quite a few actresses breaking out with popularity recently too, like Meng Ziyi and Chen Duling.
@Lilith, me too. As a business woman myself, I do take very calculated risk. Plus the market is currently not low on suitable actresses who can take on lead roles.
I can understand why Zhao Lusi is so keen to get back to filming so soon, time in this industry moves very fast. She does not want to loss the status she worked so hard to earn all these years. But there are reality investors will have to consider.

Leaving a drama crew hanging for so long is not a good look especially when she’s been so active with other business activities. Her image has taken a nosedive with her charity variety show as well
I honestly don’t think alot of projects will want to use a risky artist when there’s so many other options for actresses out there.
I love to her performances if she in it the product. I’m watching. She is fabulous. She makes her characters come alive. I am glad that she is better so can continue creating excellent work.
I look forward to her next drama too.
I’m a 75 year-old English speaker. I watch dramas like She’s The One, Cupid’s Kitchen and Dating in the kitchen. I will watch anything similar series with these fine actors that us dubbed or subtitled. I think their caliber of acting transcends the language handicap.
I agree that would be an interesting pair. I hope she gets back to her feet soon sound and well. Not many charismatic C actresses like her, specifically in her age group. I’ve been checking out many C drama recently but all failed me. Certainly, Cdrama has been known for bad script writing and directing across the board. There were very very few entertaining pieces occasionally. Nonetheless, ZLS is one of very few charismatic C actors that lighted up a boring cliche like Hidden Love. She had equally unique and very strong presence in some other of her dramas like Love Like the Galaxy, or even ridiculous shit like the Romance of Tiger and Rose. She is versatile and that could be seen in her supporting role in another dud the Long Ballad LOL.
I think her mental health did have impact on her recent performance. I wish her well soon and rejuvenated again. She’s still young, unlike Yang Mi. (Someone else in the thread compared her with YM, so here we go LOL).
I would love to see them both in the drama they both very good at anything that are told to do.good luck
