Last week a new C-drama kicked off filming and it’s the modern romance Genius Girlfriend with Tian Xi Wei and Hu Yi Tian. So far nothing much to note other than the height difference is going to look great onscreen and hopefully these two have chemistry with each other. There is a billing fight behind the scenes, but fight indicates there is a still room for discussion but honestly it’s basically set. Tian Xi Wei is first billed and Hu Yi Tian is second, but his team (fans and agency) are upset because he’s never been second billed and in fact has turned down many dramas due to that billing. Even his last drama Blossoms in Adversity was joint top billed with Zhang Jing Yi. That belief is nice and all but he’s gone 600 days without being in a film set and honestly either put up the ratings to be offered top billed off the bat or just pipe down and go film a drama as the male lead. And this drama is even less inclined to top bill the male lead since the title is Genius Girlfriend and is focused on the female lead.
