Filming Starts for Hong Sisters Next Fantasy K-drama Grand Galaxy Hotel with Lee Do Hyun and Shin Si Ah
The Hong Sisters have tried many different genres and conceits so I am surprised they are doing a follow up or spin-off of sorts for their next drama topic. Filming has started on Grand Galaxy Hotel, from the same universe as their popular drama Hotel Del Luna, about a hotel for spirits in the in between. This drama stars Lee Do Hyun, Shin Si Ah, Lee Soo Hyuk, and Lee Su Hyun as the stories of the departed with lingering regrets and unresolved issues find closure at a mystical hotel situated in the world of the living but open only to spirits. This drama got some early negative press when original female lead Go Min Si was swapped out for Shin Si Ah after bullying allegations but it seems to be back on track. But with high profile famous screenwriter dramas in this year alone flopping like When the Stars Gossip or having a polarizing reception like Genie, Make a Wish, success is never a given.
I always like seeing Lee Soo Hyuk, hope the Hong Sisters give him good material!
After all, behold their SML has become their ML for the next fantasy hotel drama.
Unpopular opinion, but I did not enjoy Hotel Del Luna. I wish LDH had chosen something more exciting. I saw bits of Resident Doctor 3 and Shin Siah is not a lead actress material. Very awkward acting. Both the supporting cast are good.
Big writers and directors have all failed this year. Hong Sisters have been on a decline for a while. Their last truly enjoyable drama was Master’s Sun.
I’m excited about LDSH’s comeback. He’s such a versatile actor with great acting chops and charisma. That being said, like Koala said, there is no shortage of disappointment at highly buzzed Kdrama this year. Lee Jae Wook, Park Bo Gum, and Kim Woo Bin all had underwhelming projects, to just name a few.
Park bogum? I don’t like the good boy drama but wasn’t tangerine good?
Lee Do Hyun’s debut was in 2017. He had his breakout role in Hotel Del Luna in 2019 despite the considerably minimal screen-time he had. Thereafter he would boldly take up less appealing & mature roles to elevate himself as a serious actor that can take pride in his talent & versatility in acting. It’s a pity that he had been inactive for about 2 yrs due to his military service obligations when he was gaining popularity & recognition with The Glory, The Good Bad Mother & Exhuma. Grand Galaxy Hotel has been set to be his first drama series since his completion & discharge from his military service in May 2025. Looking forward for him to excel & soar to a greater height again.

Lee Do Hyun would slay every character from different genres & bring it to life cos he’s always so immersed in his acting that you’ll be absorbed in his character rather than him as an actor: a 7yr old child alike & a cold prosecutor in The Good Bad Mother, a hot & sexy shaman in Exhuma, a loyal & faithful lover in Youth of May, a 37yo distraught dad with his soul trapped in his young body in 18 Again, a charming & charismatic revenge partner in The Glory, a cool & an intelligent Lee Eun Hyuk in Sweet Home S1, a handsome model in Death’s Game Ep 4, a math genius in Melancholia, an emotionless neohuman overloaded with cuteness in Sweet Home S3.He’s been inactive for about 2yrs for his military service. Hence am most happy & wil be excitedly waiting for ” Grand Galaxy Hotel ”
