J-pop Icon Ayumi Hamasaki Performs Entire Concert to Empty Stadium After Chinese Government Cancels it Due to Political Beef with Japan
Since she is already Japan’s biggest pop star for three decades running its hard to give her more accolades and props and yet she still impresses in her professionalism and perseverance. J-pop idol Ayumi Hamasaki made lemonade out of lemons this weekend after the Shanghai leg of her tour was cancelled the day before the event. She ended up performing her entire show to an empty stadium but had it recorded, with hopes to share with her fans. She explained that over 200 Chinese and Japanese production team members worked hard on the show and she wanted to still go forward for them and for her fans. What she did was so amazing and incredible and such a testament to everything that makes her a top star from dedication to thoughtfulness to grit. The pictures of her performing hit so hard especially the full view that shows an empty stadium before her.

Brava.
Admirable artist. It was such a bad timing for her. I think they can still recoup some of the cost if they’ll sell the recorded concert (streaming revenue) in the future when the circumstances is better.
China is so stupid that whenever it’s having issues with another country politically it starts banning everything from there. The most childish government I stg.
I don’t agree. Historically Japan invaded China, killed and destroyed and as far as I’m aware has never apologised. The memory has not yet faded and Japan’s current PM is only reminding China of the atrocities it suffered. I can understand China’s reaction in the light of this.
The artist in the article is blameless and handled it well and should take issue with her own politicians.
Agreed. The brainwashed Chinese American below claimed Japan has apologized, then how come Korea also echoes China’s sentiments on Japan? Ask any Korean and they will also tell you Japan has never properly apologized. Unlike Germany, Japan enshrined their war criminals as war heroes.
Most most governments behave childishly in their conflicts with other countries. Remember when the US renamed French fries? The EU has long banned all imports from Russia. Germany is sacking historians for just suggesting that Russia isn’t the devil incarnate… The list is endless.
Normal thinking people just want peace and quiet so they have to use any means possible to stir up emotions.
Kudos to the artist for making a point. Art should never be banned as it is the first step towards people understanding each other.
LOL here came again leftards parroting communists’ narratives like “all other countries also behave the same that China or Russian or N. Korea or whatever dictatorship and aggressors has been doing,” tying to digress from the central focus that’s about how CCP has been oafishly dealing international relationship in vain, which is actually doing no good but harm to China and Chinese people in reality.
Japan has officially issued apologies to China for the invasion in WWII. Go Google again and stop taking rubbish from WeChat or Weibo or any Chinese social media full of CCP crap! LOL. Germany apologized for Nazi and the West has forgiven the country since. Remembering the lessons is not equivalent to endless accusations of the once sinners/criminals for what they have not done. But China under CCP regime has been promoting hatred domestically and non stop towards any countries getting in the way of moving China to replace US as #1 superpower. Chinese government has shamelessly taken and will take any chance to run smear campaigns against any US’ allies, Japan included, just because of this obnoxious ambition to be #1 in the world.
The row between Japan and China this time has nothing to do with WWII. But ignorant Chinese and associates surely will shift the focus and point fingers again to Japan’s aggression in WWII.
It’s an objective fact that Japan would face survival dilemma in case China blockades the Taiwan Strait or even invades Taiwan. 80% of energy supply in Japan relies on maritime through the Strait, not to mention Taiwan owns 90% of advanced chip production and over 70% of global chip supplies. What Japan Prime Minister stated is a 100% accurate statement about the risks their country is facing in case there’s a war between China and Taiwan. She was saying this to forewarn her people about the potential of Ukraine War 2.0 in the region and how should Japan appropriately prepare for that. What’s wrong with her defending her country’s security? How is her remarks a reminder of China in WWII? LMAO!
Chinese keyboard nugus should stop thinking the whole world is evolving around your homeland under an egregious regime. You should exit the free world, go back to live in your motherland forever and ever to pledge allegiance to your own country LOL, rather than act constantly as parasites in democracies and trash talk about democratic systems outside your own homeland which can’t offer you the right for free speech. Hypocrites apparently!
Can you calm down. Just say your point and move on. Stop viscously saying others are idiots. We get your point. From all these posts and the previous one, all I can tell is that you are rude and a taiwanese. At this point you are the biggest jerk here
They are banning EVERYTHING from Japan including seafood and then have to import the goods from other countries with higher water pollution to poison Chinese citizens. LMAO
Such a dedicated idol.
