C-stars Song Wei Long and Tian Xi Wei Wins Most Popular Actor and Actress Prize at the 2026 Global OTT Awards for Their Roles in Shine on Me and Pursuit of Jade
This weekend C-ent went to K-ent, and sent two of the prettiest visuals to the international stage. The 2026 Global OTT Awards was held in Busan this weekend for streaming productions and handed over a ton of prizes across many categories. For C-ent stars Song Wei Long and Tian Xi Wei, they got to win their awards together in a matched set which is extra cute, and probably calls for a drama pairing together in the near future. Each took home the Most Popular Actor and Most Popular Actress awards which was fan voted so their popularity is clearly no joke. He won for modern romance Shine on Me while she won for period romance Pursuit of Jade. Both looked so fantastic at the event, impeccable visuals in outlet, hair, makeup, all of it.
It seems that democratic societies are often more willing to recognize talent regardless of nationality, especially Chinese actors. In contrast, a communist country like China woul restricted certain foreign actors, especially Korean and Japan actors and productions, and foreign actors rarely receive major awards within China’s entertainment industry.
That’s because awarding foreign actors in China just makes domestic mediocrity look intentional. lol

Since when was Global OTT Awards a major award in Korea? Foreign celebrities are invited to Chinese programs every now and then. Talking about restrictions, Chinese celebrities hardly get mentioned by Korean media too other than paid marketing. Take those fashion week comparison posts for example, Korean media hardly mention Chinese celebrities even though they attended the fashion week along with Korean celebrities whereas you can see Korean celebrities being mentioned alongside Chinese celebrities in Chinese media.
Lmao at the “more popular and influential” excuse given by China antis when Korean celebrities aren’t more popular and influential than Chinese celebrities in China. Just admit that “global” media are petty and actively trying to reduce Chinese celebrities’ global influence.

I think most people know these are just happy awards, nothing too serious about. Fans cheered, audience clapped their hands, the stars are happy for the short exposure and opportunities to travel to Korea + dress glamour. Then everybody moves on the next day, because their next works can’t wait :)))

But if they want to take it seriously, why not talking about the best actor award won by a handsome Taiwanese actor, beating Hyun Bin and certainly Song Wei Long? lol
Happy for them and any opportunity to visit South Korea! I do find the name of the awards misleading. It’s seems to just be for East and Southeast Asian OTT content. Not really global?
It’s not global not is it any kind of a serious award. Just have some fun and move on type.
I think people forget that for a long time C-Ent was importing top Hallyu celebrities/ kpop and paying them handsomely until the government stepped in. If it weren’t for the ban you see a lot of them top billing C-dramas, endorsements and concerts.
WHICH you will not/ did not see from Korea or Japan doing (at least not at the same level).
In retrospect, if it weren’t for the ban C-Ent will not learn to stand on their own and level up their dramas most especially costume drama which I feel is now their niche, so does micro and vertical dramas. I think C-dramas now have better, improved quality.
