Well, those who felt it was unfair that most of the success for Pursuit of Jade seemed to go to male lead Zhang Ling He will be happy that this month has been great to female lead Tian Xi Wei. Her current drama Where the Mask Ends is a hit and garnered her strong praise in her acting of the dual roles. Now she gets the casting for a big budget Tencent period drama slated for 2027 as she’s been tapped for the female lead in Da Tang Pi Zhu Ji 大唐辟珠记 with also confirmed male lead Song Wei Long. This is a visually yummy casting and Tian Xi Wei has proven she can carry dramas with weaker acting ability male leads as long as he’s a hunk that can command the screen so I think Tencent has picked smartly in pairing up these two. She’ll play a princess who was almost murdered and survives to wander the world with a martial arts warrior that saved her as they solve mysteries and also get to the bottom of the conspiracy against her.
