CCTV and iQiyi Medical Drama Small Town Remedy with Xiao Zhan is the Most Well Received C-drama of October 2026
Whenever there are breakouts or leveling up of any C-drama stars there is always a handful of tops that everyone remains chasing. One the male lead side it’s probably Xiao Zhan still who stands alone as the most bankable top drama actor in C-ent among his generation. This month he starred in a mainstream CCTV television broadcast with streaming on iQiyi medical C-drama Small Town Remedy (小城良方) that has delivered a resounding hit. CMS Media research online ratings of 1.75 average is fantastic and it was also the highest rated debut episode 1 ratings on CCTV-8. It hit 2.18 on Kuyun and 3.19 on Huanwang Big Data. It’s being called the medical drama that has done the best in the last three years. At this point whatever Xiao Zhan picks is either a good choice for his career and/or a high likelihood of doing well so really happy for him.
I think this is the one of best cdrama for this year. Xiao zhan is really good in portraying natural Dr liu and he made me forget how he is actually is good looking. He look like ordinary man but still feel humane.
Good drama with how it show everyone had their own trauma and it differ for everyone. A good massage everything happen just go back to your “home”.
I’m so happy for him! There is just something about him that feels genuine. I wish him continuous success and happiness ❤️
Finally, a article has been written. This drama is great, remind me of Doc Martin by Martin Clunes. Very down to earth drama, engaging and heartwarming. I am enjoying it alot. I am very happy for Xiao Zhan and the whole team. It is always great to work in a when produced/written drama.
I am sincerely tired of many recent idol dramas.
Not counting the FL, this was such a good story. Very healing and everyone did a great job. I am not surprised that it succeeded in China and also not surprised it isn’t watched internationally because most intl cdrama watchers prefer romance and slop.
