Yaaaaaasssss the Queen is coming back, this time as a Princess! K-actress Kim So Hyun has been offered and has accepted the role as historical figure Goguryeo Kingdom era Princess Pyeongang in the sageuk drama formerly titled Cut By the Heart but is now called Moon Rising Over the River. The role starts out as a teenage princess who ascends her ambitions to rule her kingdom over her useless brother and enlists the help of the “idiot” Ondal of folklore legend. Looks like the production is dropping the age of the lead cast members by an entire decade as the original leads Son Ye Jin and Kang Ha Neul both passed on the roles, though Kang Ha Neul will be making a cameo appearance as the father of Ondal. The drama is helmed by the PD of Wind, Cloud, Rain and the screenwriter of Woman of 9.9 Billion, Night Light, Dr. Jin, and Time Between Dog and Wolf. If only Jang Dong Yoon wasn’t already committed to so many projects, this would be an amazing reunion of the Nokdu couple with totally different roles though I smell a super tragic ending in the making.
