So this drama was part of C-actor Wang Yibo and his career directional turn away from idol fare to more serious dramas and movies in the last three years. The 1920’s era C-drama Golden Journey with him and Li Qin is about a young man who grows disenchanted with the republic front and embraces the inspirational communist ideals and becomes an economic and financial supporter of the party. It’s basically talking about how the budding Chinese Communist Party of the early days got it’s monetary backing from folks who believed in its ideals. The drama has been filmed for some time and is reportedly scheduled to air next month in March 2024 on China Central Television for the terrestrial airing and on iQiyi streaming.
