No matter how Descendants of the Sun ends this coming week, I hope drama fans who have been watching along with me, and hopefully all enjoying it for whatever reasons, continue to have the faith to see it through the end. I’ve been posted the written ending spoilers for a few weeks now, the first coming out of China from a netizen who saw the Chinese version, and last week a more detailed ending spoiler from Korea from a netizen with connections to the production. So far the two reported spoilers align, though the Korean one is much more in depth. Today there is the first reported visual sighting – Chinese netizens are abuzz with two screencaps taken with the iQiyi logo on the top left, the streaming site in China that is live airing DotS. If these are real pictures from the ending episode then basically it’s so spoilery I cannot even write a word about it until after the jump.
Sooooooo…..does anyone need a translation? The tomb says Yoo Shi Jin 1983-2016. The bottom is of course a picture of the beautiful but clearly sorrowful Mo Yeon in all black. I don’t know – these pictures could be photoshopped, or maybe it’s a feint and Shi Jin “dies” so that he can leave the military life and retire to Urk with Mo Yeon to be like Daniel and Ye Hwa. I’m basically prepared for the worst but still hoping for the best.

I'm guessing that they thought he died, but he actually didn't. And they meet up again in Urk, and live happily ever after.
That would be the REFRESHING ending that Jin Goo talked about?
Sort of like in Secret Garden, given the writer does not change her spots....we are all aware that Leopards do not change their spots.
uhh no, that Hangul is RYU Shi Jin and not Yoo Shijin.
That's some bad photoshop right?
yea, i saw that and was like what... obviously someone who 'made' this pic does not know korean
Great catch!
As far as I'm concerned, Ryu and Yoo as a surname is actually the same in Korean, just like Ra and Na, Lim and Im
So, Yoo Shi Jin = Ryu Shi Jin
if you look on his uniform he spells it's Yoo so the spoiler pic is prob fake unless production messed up with the consistency of how to spell his last name
As far as I'm concerned, Ryu and Yoo as a surname is actually the same in Korean, the variation is just a styling just like Ra and Na, Lim and Im
So, Yoo Shi Jin = Ryu Shi Jin

Eagle eye! LOL
So it is not Yoo Si Jin?
Ooohhh ....that's a relief!
Really... I mean, if that K-netizen claimed that he/she has good connection with the production, I don't think it would mean anything as even the producer himself doesn't even want to share the ending with his own wife!
I think the photos are photoshop. I think that pic of Song Hye Ko is from a different drama or film.
Firstly, the streaks across Shi Jin's face..they are exactly the same as the ones in episode one. It seems impossible that it can happen that way. Of course they could have filmed the first and last episode sequentially, on the same day, but really that is most unlikely given the time it takes to film those action shots in episode 1. ( I am quite sure if somebody bothers to go through episode one with a fine comb , they will find Shi Jin in the exact position as shown in the 'revealed' shot)
Secondly, given that those people who are given the spoilers and those posted the spoilers are obviously not people with integrity since these are obviously not their properties to do as they please, and the reason for their posting them really dubious, I think nobody should give them that much of credibility and attention least it makes them feel proud and righteous of what they have done.
Thirdly, China is a densely populated country and if they have no secrets, the media would be spilling over with the news by now. Of the billions of people interested in the drama, only one or two of them have privy to the information? Wah..CIA should employ them.
Fourthly, one person's opinion of the ending, does not lend it credibility. Opinions are often not facts. I have an opinion on the design of Seoul's airport but I am not qualified. My opinion in that area does not deserve an intelligent answer. Anyway, I did read that the producer himself said that even his wife does not know the ending. So why should we try to get ahead of the game and spoil our own fun and entertainment, and allow those people who try to spoil it for us, enjoy watching us lose our fun. We should totally ignore them.
Hahahahh CIA ....
You bought up some very good points. The more "spoilers" come out, the less I believe them. I don't think I've ever watched a drama with this much nonsense going on.
he fakes the death because he is wanted as a fugitive but actually still alive. One day she receives a postcard with a white stone as a clue for them to meet. She realises Shi Jin is still alive and decides to go back to island where they truly meet and they will live happily ever after... pretty generic plot actually :D
I don't think she will get pregnant though.
I saw somewhere in Instagram a couple of weeks back that somewhat said that pic of SHK was actually from a movie (??). And that tombstone looked pretty much photoshopped to me.
Here's hoping the finale week won't be a disappointing one. Despite some major flaws, this drama is still an entertaining one to watch.
ah I remember her looks like the one in her movie but I maybe wrong.
Whether he dies for real or not. I know the drama is going to end with both of them finally sitting down to go see that movie together from the beginning to the end with no one leaving to rescue anyone or shoot someone. Hehehe
Good theory.
Hopefully it ends that way.
I think the pace was light hearted and melo-comedic throughout the drama so I doubt they will kill off the most beloved character this way.
I don't think they wanna give such a gloomy ending to a patriotic role like this - since the role was supposed to inspire people to stay or join the army, I doubt they will take such a drastic move.
All the best Yoo Shi Jin, prove them wrong and stay alive!
Hahaha...Thailand Prime Minister has been trying to take advantage of DotS to promote the military image of his country. He would feel embarrassed if the hero he tries to relate to dies at the end.
Hahahaha
Ya I don't think shijin will die too but if so, everyone will start a war with the production team and the writer.
They already watched the movie. It'll end on the beach like her dream.
WHAT THE HECK?
So all Manager Jin (the Korean national enemy who swallowing diamond) said in his interview with Entertainment Weekly are just b*llshit???!!!! He said the remaining episodes were gonna lovey dovey...OK now Manager Jin joins Jin Goo on my blacklist of eating their own words.
The pictures could be real but it might be a dream sequence.
Maybe mo Yeon might be dreaming the worst while she fell asleep while waiting for him to recuperate.
Or shi Jin could be fighting his own unconscious battle while struggling from the wounds - imagining a "widow" mo Yeon might give him another impetus to overcome his coma.
Anyway on tombstones they are supposed to put the full/real date instead of just the year.
If the spoiler is for real, how is that gonna be satisfying or lovey dovey? It's doubtful two actors of the cast were just tongue in cheek to troll fans.
????????
The tombstone name is wrong ... Ryu Shi Jin??? wakakkakakakaka
really? because I can't read hangul
