K-stars Descend on the Red Carpet of the 2017 Busan International Film Festival
If there is just one fashion slayer on the red carpet for a Korean entertainment event then I’m a happy camper, even better if it happens to be one of my beloveds. The opening night of the 2017 Busan International Film Festival, the Korean equivalent of Cannes, went off without a hitch and with plenty of star power. It was a sea of white and black gowns per usual with the lone sartorial shining light being Moon Geun Young making her first major public event appearance since her medical hiatus earlier this year.
She went with a tailored shantung suit with a black bra under a gauze black shirt that was pulled off with refreshing style, chic and edgy without going overboard. On the opposite end of that spectrum of trying something new was grown up child actress Seo Shin Ae in a white gown with a plunging neckline that looked awkward on her and didn’t work with her sweet features, she may be grown up but wanting to be sexy should still work with the outfit looking good on her. The other notable standouts are the back cutout on Yoona’s white embroidered gown and the suited perfection of the trio of Kim Rae Won, Yoon Kye Sang, and Kim Jae Wook. Rawr times 3!

Seo Shin Ae, that dress does not look good at all, I get wanting to look more grown up but it just is a terrible dress.

Yoona looks nice, but she does look like someone’s pretty mom. Not really old, but more mature and I guess more serious looking. MGY looks great.
Han Hyo Joo looks so stunningly elegant in that black dress, very beautiful. I don’t care for Yoona’s acting but her red carpet fashion is elegant too. She looks much better with that short hair cut.
Seo Shin Ae is a child actress so her ’daring’ choice of dress caused some controversy (and I thought it just didn’t look good), but I applaud her for wearing things that make her happy and comfortable, it shows on her face.
Moon Geun Young is beautiful, but her dress tacky.
Kim Rae Won is so freaking hot and he looks even hotter with a black suit on. Like a mix of Park Jung Hwan’s sharp style and HongHongHong’s hot smile. Kim Jae Wook is a hottie too.
I’m not sure it was a good decision for her to be that daring since she got a lot of hate for it and was compared to model child actresses KSH & KYJ. The next day she was all covered up and looked like she was attending a funeral. I wish she had just waited another year or so to show that much skin. It would have gotten a lot less criticism by then.
Yeah she looked like she regretted it, or maybe her company is trying to do some damage control because she got called an attention seeker and then got body shamed. But honestly, it’s her body and she can wear whatever she wants. Of course people will express their opinions, but they should understand that she’s not a child anymore. But I think it would be unfortunate if she became the Ariel Winter of Korea…

Livestream watch…Red carpet walk “thumbs up” from hair to footwear – Minho, Ye Jin, Songs and a few more; Overall festival opening grace and confidence “thumbs up” – geun young, jae sook, rae won; Yoona -needed an easier outfit to deal with and not the best emceeing delivery but VERY gracious considering that she was a last-minute sub; Dong Gun -not his best one either -wear and lead emceeing wise.
Yoona just turns me off, and I honestly can’t figure out why?
The Song’s Triplet are adorable!
Those triplets are such cuties, adorable like their dad but they are so special little gentlemen all dressed up, my gosh, how time flies when you watch them in Superman, love’em all. Can’t wait to see them ten years from now and as young child actors their parents could be really proud of them should they wish to continue their acting careers at such a young age but sure their parents will offer lots of helpful and careful advice that they should heed and listen to. But I’m so proud looking at all three of them guided by their proud, watchful dad, where’s mom? How handsome they look, mom, thank you too.

As an American female watching or looking at all these young talented actors and actresses especially the young actresses that I feel should dress how they feel and not how the Hollywood Red Carpet actresses dress so out there and daring, some inappropriately; just hope and wish they don’t copy them but be your own woman, classy but with style of your own. Please also for the young, impressionable girls at home watching all this, don’t copy, you’re too young, be your own fashion goddess or ICON. Simple dressing is always good too.
