I wonder if setting K-dramas in the boondocks is the new IT thing. Last year in 2019 there was When the Camellia Blooms, currently there is the mopey and super sad Chocolate set in both a desolate countryside and also a podunk island, and coming soon will be I’ll Come Find You When the Weather is Fine. Also set in a village is upcoming Channel A romance drama Yoobyeolna! Chef Moon starring Eric and Go Won Hee. He plays a top chef working now in a remote village and she’s a top fashion designer who loses her memory and ends up being the village weirdo. There’s shades of Couple or Trouble but likely updated for the current trends in K-romance with a side of heartwarming shenanigans. I see pratfalls and personal growth all over this drama.
