We are in the final stretch for Vincenzo and Mr. Koala even teased me this morning as he headed out to run an errand, telling me “Enjoy your Vincenzo!”. Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought as would, episode 17 wasn’t nearly the comeback I expected after the one week hiatus and I’m not sure if it’s the drama or me. Of course Vincenzo wasn’t going to kill the Team Babel that quickly, but his attack plan was a re-tread of his greatest works from using villains and discarding them to setting up the greedy accomplices to provide their own foibles to use against them. I’m sure there are more machinations and tricks up his sleeve but Vincenzo himself felt cold and detached during his revenge scheme, and it’s so sad to see after he got to connect with the Geumga plaza residents especially Cha Young. I like that we aren’t given sugar coated Vincenzo, his darkness is part of who he is but it feels like he has to embrace it to win. Or does he, are we getting the mother of all feints whereby his grand plan involves doing things where he doesn’t lose sleep at night and still delivers his brand of justice. This drama has been my Sat-Sun mainstay and perhaps my quibbles at this very end moment are merely a reluctance to say goodbye.
There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself…

I liked the episode but yeah he somehow does seem more cold and detached after the death of his mum. No more goofy Vincenzo. And the despatch of MyungHee ex henchman caught me offguard too. The recurring nightmares and all make me uneasy too....are they hinting that he is gonna go all dark?
