Netflix Drama D.P. is the Only K-drama to Make the New York Time’s Year End Best International Shows of 2021 List
I’m not surprised to see this K-drama on the list but am surprised to not see another K-drama as well join. It’s December so the Best Of lists are starting to come out. The Gray Lady herself The New York Times is off to an early start and for the Best International TV Shows of 2021 list one K-drama got the nod. It’s Netflix army drama D.P. (Deserter Pursuit) with Jung Hae In and Koo Kyo Hwan, both men got such a huge boost from it. For Jung Hae In it was getting back in the netizens good graces after an early breakout and an awards show faux pas stumble. For Koo Kyo Hwan it cemented him as being one of the most versatile and intense actors of his generation after multiple supporting roles that were acclaimed in Peninsula, Ashin: Kingdom of the North, and Escape from Mogadishu. I thought Squid Game would be on this list since it’s well reviewed with the US critics and of course was way more popular than D.P. But I love that a less trendy drama was recognized solely for the quality to which D.P. basically got uniform raves. Congrats to the cast and crew for this recognition.
So glad D.P. deserved being included on that list.
This drama was one of the best of 2021. It really deserves the recognition. The story, the PD and the actors were great.
Honestly deserved. I’m kinda sad JHI is following this up with Snowdrop which I have low expectations about. I hope I’m wrong!
well at least if snowdrop tank, we still have DP S2 to wash it off

In terms of plot, acting and overall script and story quality, D.P. is definitely superior to Squid Game.
I liked D.P. a lot more than the other drama and I m glad to see that I m not alone on this.
The drama really deserve the recognition. I’m waiting for 2nd season.
My fave Netflix kdramas are Move to heaven and D.P. Glad that they got the recognition too.
Deserved. For me, D.P. and Move to Heaven were the best Netflix dramas this year.
I watched the first two seasons of Call My Agent and have been meaning to jump back in.
D.P was good, the inclusion is deserved!
