C-actress Tang Yan Holds Live Stream and Gets Criticism for Swollen Looks and Lack of Viewership

It’s been nearly three years since C-actress Tang Yan has been in a C-drama, her last was The Legend of Xiao Chuo in 2020. After she married fellow actor Luo Jin in 2018 and had twins (never confirmed), she’s been noticeably absent in acting projects and only takes CFs or attends promo events. She used to do one to three dramas a year much like any young actress just taking off but being a Top Star (One Sister or Yi Jie) does require continued maintenance and not doing anything slowly chips away all that built up track record and good will. This week she did a live stream to promote and sell products and got criticism for her swollen looks and excessive use of camera filters. The pictures released from her agency afterwards don’t have the same visuals and showcase her looking the same as usual.

So sad that they want their idol to look unnatural because of "beautiness", but still don't like the result.
Is the filters her fault though or the company that hired her and hosted the streaming? Poor girl. I still think she's beautiful too!
She still looks beautiful. She doesn't look like she has aged a bit. I wish she would have more projects out. I miss her onscreen.

It must be a prerequisite to do live selling for the product when they signed up to be the spokesperson. Honestly, if I'm a huge star, like her and Yangmi, I would put it in the contract to avoid doing live selling.
