A lot of Year End Awards thunder was stolen thanks to MBC doing theirs the night before and Lee Jong Seok winning the Daesang where he thanked a special someone who turned out to be real life girlfriend IU. Like, that’s drama writing in a K-ent themed drama haha. New Year’s Eve saw SBS which had the most hits hold its Year End Drama Awards and managed to properly apportion out the awards. Kim Nam Gil took home the Daesang, Namgoong Min won a special Director’s Award, and Lee Jun Ki and Seo Hyun Jin took home Top Excellence respectively. Both sets of OTP in A Business Proposal won Best Couple so that was nice.

SBS and MBC red carpet were acceptable, not that bad (after lowering expectation). But KBS? Man, that’s what I call horrendous. Even after setting expectation to below zero, the clothing still managed to drop my jaw. It it that bad.
I paid less attention to the MBC KBS one since most of their show were meh (with the notable exception of Big Mouth in MBC), but as for the SBS one… it seems they just gave out a trophy to each and every major star in their dramas (except for relative flops Today’s Webtoons and Woori the Virgin)
Well done Kim Nam Gil! I didn’t love TTD but he was excellent and Daesang was well-deserved. It must have been tough to decide between him and Nam Going Min who was also excellent.
It’s not saying much but SBS had the best red carpet of the big three. Two of my faves were Gong Seungyeon and Lee Chung Ah’s dresses. They wore black but both dresses were tastefully sexy.
