Jeon Do Yeon Goes From Mousy Mother Figure in tvN Drama to Contract Killer in Upcoming Netflix Movie Kill Boksoon

Okay, this is CLEARLY the K-version gender swapped John Wick, no? Nothing wrong with that and having top actress Jeon Do Yeon completely go killer femme fatale is brilliant casting for upcoming Netflix movie Kill Boksoon. It’s also great counter programming to her currently airing tvN drama Crash Course in Romance where she got negative feedback for looking old and mousy but clearly she was styled as such because she is almost a doppleganger for the Kim Hye Soo style female lead. The movie posters are fantastic and showcase the amazing full cast including Sol Kyung Gu, Esom, and Koo Kyo Hwan. This movie comes out on March 31st.

  1. I wonder who criticizes a 50+ year old woman for looking old. Probably incels or airhead schoolgirls who think they will be 21 for ever.

    • Exactly. She looks great and is a hugely successful and respected award-winning actress, who cares if she looks her age? Not a thing wrong with it. She’s still killing the game, and these incels and pick-mes can stay mad, seethe, and cope 😎

    • i’ve already expected that from men, that they will shame a woman for her age. but it’s just so sad when it’s young women themselves who perpetuate that ageist, misogynistic bullcrap. what they don’t realize is that they will be harmed by that too, once they get old. just a sad, vicious cycle. oh well

    • They will grow old and they will start having wrinkles. And what is wrong with 50-something finding Romance and love? It is not sin, if lee byun hun can Romance Kim tae ri in Mr Sunshine, I don’t see a problem in that

  2. It is great counterprogramming by Netflix to schedule Kill Boksoon right after Crash to build on the momentum from Crash’s popularity and show her range.

  3. I think some people may have thought she looked too old for the role based upon what age she was projected to be. Based upon the age of her niece when she began to care for her and current age, she should have been in her 30’s, maybe early 40’s. She definitely looks older. She looks her age. I am enjoying the drama but think she is miscast.

  4. Yeah koala has a typo all the time!wkwkwk
I wonder all about ladies above the 35age has slayed in their own way!very different for the younger era naw!its very meh

  5. Those who criticized her age and looks are those who consume K-dramas for the visuals rather than the acting and sadly, there are many of them. That’s why so many actors/actresses are so popular just because of their looks and not because of their acting skills (not gonna name them here lol). No matter the petty criticism JDY got, she’s still THE best actress of Korea. If her bashers don’t appreciate that, then they don’t deserve to be graced by her projects. They can go worship their other biases for their looks.

  6. Already saw this movie at the Berlinale. Not for 1 sec did I think of her age. I just thoroughly enjoyed this (very bloody) film. Look forward to some great acting.
