These new character posters are so hilariously awful but for some reason I’m kinda excited for this drama. The C-drama adaptation of the novel The Guide to Capturing a Black Lotus titled in Chinese Yong Ye Xing He released new stills of leads Ding Yu Xi and Yu Shu Xin along with second leads Zhu Xu Dan and Yang Shi Zhe. Everyone is emerging from a purple lotus in what looks like a galaxy backdrop so very on point with the title. Ding Yu Xi is coming off a disappointing outing with the lackluster Love You Seven Times while Yu Shu Xin had a good 2023 year with her dramas and has a lot on deck for 2024 so let’s see if this one is a hit for both.

Haha Koala you’re really tickling my fancy right now :). Great early in the year broadcasts with Esther, I’m thrilled. Hopefully the director/scriptwriter didn’t do her dirty.
And Chen Duling is in everything these days lol (all the costumed ones I watch anyways.) But she always gets weepy, crap roles. It looks like she’s still playing antagonist here.
I read it was because she was stuck in Hengdian during a lockdown, so she’s in 14 projects lol.
I actually read something similar but more along the lines of the veteran actors. They were all filming in Hengdian and just “borrowed” actors from other shows when they needed it.

I saw some of the clips of her and she looks stunning! I never thought she was that pretty when she first debut, but I get it now lol.
I need more information, like is Ding Yu Xi’s character a sickly male lead (similar to Luo Yunxi at the beginning of ‘Till The End Of The Moon’), or is he just really pale?
I like this pairing but oh hey, no “real” affected baby voice….
I would be willing to give this drama a try as long as Esther doesnt use her fake baby voice. Visually everyone looks very pretty
I love both ML and FL I have faith with these two the series will be a bit. Also I don’t care what ratings say I loved love you seven times the series had it all good story, gorgeous M and F leads satisfying ending what more do people want? Instead of following critics and people who follow these blindly trust yourself and your heart and remember a show doesn’t always need to be an academy award winner to be entertaining, warm have heart and soul LYST has all of these factors going for it and let’s not forget Ding You Xi 😘
