C-actress Yuan Bing Yan Reportedly Gives Up on Post Tax Evasion Comeback and Transitions to Stage Acting

So not every tax evasion scandal with C-celebrities have the same consequences and it really depends on severity and scope. C-actress Yuan Bing Yan‘s tax scandal details I won’t rehash but her case was actually on the not as severe side until her side decided to fight it with the government and argue her case. It was that response which was seen as not taking responsibility that escalated the punishment levied on her. C-ent is now reportedly that she has given up ever having an onscreen comeback and has signed on to do a stage play. Her two filmed dramas Love Never Fails with Liu Xue Yi is getting her female lead scenes re-filmed with C-actress Hu Yi Xuan whole The Emperor’s Love with Wallace Chung remains on hold with no word on the production wants to attempt to get it on air.

  1. Well, at least she found a way to survive without being totally erased from ebiz. Stage work is fine, too. In a schadenfreude kind of way, she hasn’t had too many hits, so her connection with the audience is minimal. It won’t be terrible to not see her again.

The only celeb I regret not seeing anymore from these scandals is Deng Lun. He had potential. Zhao Wei was also a big one, but she was kind of in a semi-retired state anyways, so she wasn’t missed too much.

      • @Adnana

Me too. I was so looking forward to watch that “The Wanderer” with him and Ni Ni. 🙏🙏🙏. Hopefully he will come back soon (miracle)?

  2. Believe it or not, many of the Chinese celebrities who got banned from broadcast in China due to tax evasion or solicitation are doing perfectly fine with other sources of income. At least YBY is really passionate about acting.

    • Lol I don’t think that’s the case for Zheng Shuang.

And Fan BingBing is still trying to dig herself out of the ban and circumvent the regulations by doing other things (though she will never go back to her previous glory.) Not that I mind, I’m not a fan of her works, although recently she has been an inspiring fashionista, which I enjoy very much.

  3. The irony is tax evasion through money laundering is rampant among CCP officials and higher-ups. The difference is those are even in larger scales. LOL

  4. I am truly happy she is able to do what she enjoys. She can no longer be a idol nor appear on screen…but I hope she will find her own happiness.
