Dilraba Dilmurat and Chen Fei Yu Confirmed for Xianxia C-drama Love Beyond the Grave Set to Start Filming Next Month in August

It’s a new Chinese title but the same leads for the upcoming C-drama Love Beyond the Grave. It was originally titled 白日提灯 Ba Ri Ti Deng and will now be called 慕胥辞 Mu Xu Ci. The drama will star Dilraba Dilmurat and Chen Fei Yu, both of whom recently finished filming a drama with plenty of time for this to start filming next month in August. It’s a xianxia drama about a female ghost master and a powerful general with connected fates. It’s hard for me to picture these two as a drama CP but I’ll withhold judgment until I see the end product.

  2. Another Xianxia, can they put in more effort on wuxia to or even a pure mordern action genre would be cool. Is it also restricted due to censorship.

    • I feel they do produce way too much xiaxian due to the fact that it a genre has loss it essence of why it became popular in the first place.

    • The censorship ruins everything, in I am Nobody drama, the drama had everything you could want in wuxia drama in modern days, but they ruin it by forcing the drama to put “HE went to jail for that”, that dude had two years in community service as punishment ” written in big ugly font down the screen, it was ridiculous, I understand why producers avoid making any modern drama in other dramas beside romance

    • I’ve been wondering with all these casting news, why koala never posted about Xiao Zhan’s new movie and drama.

      • @Annie Koala is not into Xiao Zhan, plus Xiao Zhan’s team also doesn’t pay her for marketing. Hence she’ll only post about him when she needs to attract/divert attention for other celebrities. Try not to think of this website as a personal non-profit blog, then you’ll start to understand how it works.

      • @Lilith , well this is a personal blog, so koala is free to post whatever interests her. She is not obligated to post about xiao zhan.
For me, I get to know all latest news about him from X, so it doesn’t matter to me. I mostly come here to check other celeb updates.

    • I agree. Dilraba has a more mature look, and Chen Feiyu has a more youthful look. They don’t seem visually compatible based on my impressions of them. Before people jump to conclusions on me being ageist against women, Song Yiren is only a year younger than Dilraba, and I loved her with Chen Feiyu in Ever Night 1.

      • I agree with your comment. This has nothing to do with age, it has more to do with visual compatibility. Dilraba has better onscreen chemistry with more mature looking male leads as her vibe is more mature. This was the first thing I thought of when I considered their pairing. And I believe their acting styles differ too. I’m curious how this pairing will work out. I don’t hold out much hope for it.

      • Leo Wu looked fine with Dilraba in The Long Ballad (2021). But Leo is a much stronger actor than CFY… Will wait and see how this drama turns out. Song Yiren is only good in Ever Night 1, all her other dramas have flopped and she is slipping into nothing now in my opinion.

      • I actually didn’t like her pairing with Leo Wu, but agree with your comment that Leo is a better actor. Chen Feiyu is good in slightly arrogant roles like Ever Night and Princess & Lighter. Also agree about Song Yiren. I liked her in Ever Night 1, but all her subsequent dramas have flopped. They didn’t seem like good productions to begin with.

  3. Reba and FeiYu… I too am unsure about this pairing…I will try to be open minded.

I have only finished 3 of Reba’s dramas (Not all lead actress)… I wonder if there is a 4th?

    • Seems everyone agreed so far. They don’t have CP vibes. You’re My Glory is the only Reba’s drama I finished. She had chemistry with Yang Yang though. I’m fine with her modern dramas, not so much costume. She looks odd in Hanfu.

      • You might be aware…in UK, we have a number of period dramas that is very popular thru streaming sites.

And in the recent couple of dramas (Period/Modern)…We have seen an increase of black, brown faces cast as white characters. There were lots of discussion about it but majority feels if the actors can act then skin colour is not a issue. Woke culture is big in UK now, so there is active movement to see beyond colour, race and ethnicity.

Initially I found the drama quite awkward to watch… but the artiste’s skills are just so good, I no longer see the actors as themselves but the characters they portray. I came to enjoy the dramas …

Even up to 2yrs ago, I would agree with you about Reba..but now, I will say…Reba, if she had solid acting skills, her ethnicity would not matter at all. But because her skills are lacking, then she over shadow the character.

The 4 dramas I have completed with Reba was: Diamond Lover, Pretty Li Hui Zhen , Eternal Love, You are my Glory

That is just my opinion… no offence intended at all.

      • @HL, it sounds ridiculous to me to have colored ppl play essential roles in British period dramas. I used to be a huge fan of Jane Austen and other British classic. Let politics be politics and art be authentic to how it should be according to the history.

Woke culture has been equally rampant in the US since Obama took the presidency and it’s getting worse after last election in 2020. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not a racist. But the efforts to reverse the historical stigma and mistreatment that minorities (specifically African ethnic) endured went too far and too extreme to make corrections that has done nothing good to the society and the country (US) as a whole. We all know a society can thrive and economy can prosper only when merits of hardworking ppl get recognized properly. One should be rewarded by merits not by race through political means. Same in showbiz. Colored ppl as white characters? How laughable it is! It’s so wrong.

I still stand by my opinion about Reba looking odd in C costume. I can’t take those dramas seriously. LOL.

      • @Somebody, I too find Reba not Han Chinese looking enough..but her skills are not great thus I cannot complete most of her period dramas…

Black people as white characters…I am still learning..Woke culture is too big in London for me to ignore. If Trump gets elected again…I really cannot imagine what US will be in those years.

      • If Trump gets elected, ppl just have to get ready for his styles, like it or not. He’s someone who would do what he said, no jokes at all.

I’ve been a swing voter and did not decide whom to vote yet until Kamala Harris stepped in the campaign. This woman is worse than Biden’s age and Trump’s craziness. Just look at her track records in California as the state attorney general! Ridiculous law of $950, so laughable. LOL. No brainer for me whom to support now.

      • First. If men could play women for most of acting’s history, then it’s perfectly fine for people of color to play white people. The success of Hamilton and Bridgerton proves the audience does not care.

Second. Attorney Generals do not create laws. They enforce the laws that voters and their chosen legislatures pass.

  4. I like Arthur Chen in Ever Night 1 (although did not finish the drama) and in particular Lighter & Princess. I hope he gets more interesting scripts to show his acting range. Not much so far though. Reba’s costume turned me off. But I’ll be open to this drama for Arthur’s sake.

  5. If it wasn’t for daddy’s influence, Arthur Chen Fei Yu would have been cancelled for his sex photos leak.

And then you have celebs like Zhang Zhe Han who get cancelled and bullied for the dumbest reasons and alleged accusations just because they don’t have a golden thigh to latch on to.

Dilireba’s “exotic” looks is gorgeous for China but nothing special in the eyes of Caucasians. Not a great actress either. She should stick to being a model doing pictorials and endorsing brands in China.

    • Zhang Zhehan got cancelled because he’s a traitor to his country and a Japanese sympathizer. There’s no place in Chinese Ent for Japanese sympathizer!

    • @Tsk @Sigh Pretty is pretty, beauty is not in the eye of the beholder. Why she should be special for caucasians in particular? LOL.
