So C-actress Zhao Lu Si is going from Love’s Ambition, her recently finished filming modern romance, into another of the same genre titled Almost Love. This isn’t just a casting melon as the production of Almost Love has released the teaser posters and on it lists the names of the two leads. Her male lead for Almost Love will be Peng Guan Ying, who can play both swoony mature sexy man or hot asshole baddie with equal aplomb. The drama is about two who meet as twenty-somethings, date, separate, and reunite some years later when they are both older and wiser, and is slated to start filming shortly.

I saw someone on twitter saying lusi should put these dinossaurs down🤣🤣😭😭. Her fans are saying she is trying new genres to be recognized as a serious actress but i dont see it with the William Chan one. William is not a good actor, he was never considered a serious actor and the drama doesnt look serious at all. From the relentless reuters marketing it looks like a generic idol drama. I dont know PGY works so not sure about him but maybe this one is the serious one.

Peng Guan Yin is an amazing actor especially in villainous roles. He ate it. He was in a drama with wang churan and now with lusi. Why dont cast him with same age actresses. There are a lot! Oh yeah, he was supporting actor in Crystal Liu’s drama and was good.
Hope to see him in another villainous role or anti hero one.

I agree they should cast more mature actresses. There are plenty of capable pretty actresses in similar age group with Peng.
PGY will always associates with a scumbag man tag for me…haha Don’t get me wrong, I love him as an actor but he shines more as a jerk than as a vanilla. His best CP is Cen Wan Jing. Their chemistry is bomb! He is so sweet with both WCR and LYF too.
So she got all those botox fillers to look mature next to these old men? I don’t see how acting alongside old men can make her a “serious” actress. Its not like they are award winning actors either.

Peng Guan Ying does his best work when paired with actresses that are closer in age. And one where he plains villanious and anti-hero roles.
He had amazing chemistry with Cai Wen Jing in ‘The Confidence’ and ‘Unexpected Falling’ as well as with Liu Yi Fei in the recently aired ‘The Tale of Rose’.
He oozes sexiness and has a mature charm to him – that just doesn’t vibe with much younger female costars.
Big fan of her, she can make any role paired with any actor work magic! super excited to see her in this one 😍

She is 25 and he is 38 in real life. How to make them both be in their twenties believable? Maybe she is tired of being ditzy in her roles and wants to be a vavavoom sort of woman. Like Liu yifei maturity but she still has plenty of time to sort of get there. But it’s not the first time in dramaland they put older with younger who are near their fourties. Hopefully they chemistry well.

I agree with you. Peng has very matured looks and vibe to be acting twenties unless they get a younger man for the early years part.
Not sure how they gonna style Zhao to be in her thirties but I guess that is less challenging. Change the hair styling and give her an upgrade in wardrobe. Still, they really don’t look compatible in terms of age based on the script.
I know nothing about the ML but heard that he could act.
ZLS’ first pic does look suspicious of some PS work done. I didn’t see that way in her prior pics posted here. But this one just looks so PS. Lusi is one of very few C actresses I like. But gotta be honest, I don’t appreciate her new looks that much.
Peng Guan Ying can act. He’s also a giant. I know she’s been paired with tall guys before, but age, stature, facial features, I am having a hard time imagining that 2 together.

I think actors and their agencies are scared of the crazies for coming after them about “billing”, even if they’re worth more or equal. Now she’ll get projects with dudes who don’t really fit her idol status or age range. I just KNOW these recent male lead castings are not “first” on the billing list. Lol smh.
They are not, she is first billed. But that’s the problem, if she wants a solo first billing this is all she can get. Her fans fawn all over her but popularity is one thing, status in the industry another. She is only going to drop further with all this.

I think sponsor/mistress comments are very malicious. Every traffic actor has an agency that invests in them, they take care of their branding and invest in their dramas. This is very common, doenst mean dirty sponsoring is happening everywhere. Zhao Lusi is very famous and she has an agency dedicated to devlop her career like many others. Its not her fault an agency believed in her potentiat, other actors are just unfortunate.

ZLS is in a hurry to transform into a serious actress very soon thus with these series of projects with subpar ML. Although ZLS doesn’t want to end up just like Yang Zi or Yang Mi but it seems that’s where she’s heading too. Both YZ and YM has been in the industry for more than a decades yet still stuck in doing the same repetitive white lotus roles in ‘idol’ dramas in modern or historical settings. YZ even got desperate to buy a nomination for herself and her watery drama then chickened out last minute to attend coz she knows she doesn’t deserved to be there. Maybe ZLS should look up to Ni Ni or Janine Chang career as inspiration instead or else she will really end up like YZ overly obsessed with photoshopped and padding up her drama stat with water or be like YM deteriorating into a cougar mama with very poor acting skills acting next to 95-liners in same idol dramas were she got known for more than decades ago
She seems to be following Zhao Liying’s career more than any other actress tbh.
