So count me in on someone who liked seeing two same gen actresses collaborating rather than being rivals, but I also did sense it’s not all sunshine and roses behind-the-scenes. Last month Miu Miu did a Bazaar magazine spread featuring Liu Hao Cun and Zhao Jin Mai as both as brand ambassadors. It was super cute for me and I thought they vibed well together in the joint shots and delivered their own charm in the solo snaps. Now industry chatter says Liu Hao Cun has been annoyed at having to work with Zhao Jin Mai and wants to emphasize that she’s a step above in looks and clout. Last week when both attended the Feitian Awards Liu Hao Cun went on a posting tear seemingly to try and generate more buzz than her. I shrug at petty jostling and ultimately Liu Hao Cun is on her redemption arc so she may need to play nice more still.

She's indeed prettier than Zhao Jinmai who looks abit old-fashioned and grungly, but I think the latter has more clout since drama > movies when it comes to gaining fans.
Actually Chinese actors compete to get into movies, as that's more a surefire way to get general public recognitions. I've read though that it's way, way harder to get into the movie circle, actors -esp the young ones- need to get that network. Both actresses are actually quite lucky to have resources to get that access at such young age. Liu Haocun of course is a "Zhang Yimou girl", and Zhao Jinmai already has the massive blockbuster Wandering Earth under her belt. This said, I'd say Jinmai is slightly ahead, as she's got Reset in her dramaland resume. Liu Haocun is yet to claim a similar acclaim for her drama. But sometimes success is measured by the number of brand endorsements they can collect.

I personally much prefer Zhao Jin Mai. She is the girl-next-door type but in an unique way. And even though she is not at fault concerning what her parents did, that thing just doesn't sit well with me to the point I just cannot watch Liu Hao Cun
I think Zhao Jin Mai is sweeter and has a more distinctive look, adistinguishing her from others. I recall she is quite versatile and expressive. Liu looks similar to other C-ent actresses. Pretty but not particularly outstanding
ZJM is cute with some delicate features, the perfect shoujo-esque aesthetic. I have never seen her dramas but her looks are memorable. The other girl I have never seen before and will probably forget her face later.
Same! I dont find Liu Haocan particularly special in terms of looks. Can't speak to acting skills because I haven't watched anything she's been in. There are many actresses that look like her and I wouldn't be able to put a name to her face in a crowd of actresses. Zhao Jinmai is very recognizable to me though. Her face is very unique.

Liu Haocun is a rookie when Zhang Yimou picked her for his movie. She is manage by his agency... She had been on the movie path...only recently she started acting in dramas.
I am going to read leisurely about her negative news but not take to heart at all. Will just watch her dramas and see if she can do well in dramaland.
I do think Director ZYM has good eyes for talent. Regardless of the negative publicity and controversies about her parents(?), I think she has both visuals and acting chops. IMO, she's definitely a far more talented actress than ZJM. Pity that C-ent doesn't promote real acting gems. Backing and connections are more important. That's why we've been seeing pedestrian commodities inundating drama cast and main leads are so-so oftentimes. These popular C actors/actresses most likely wouldn't be able to survive K-ent if competing with K actors/actresses.
Liu Hao Cun has always been arrogant cause she thinks herself as a big movie star since she is one of zhang yi mou girls. Nothing new here.

ZJM is definitely more popular. She has a lot of dramas under her belt.
I hate arrogant kid. Many popular artists are humble and friendly. She should learn from Dilraba and Yangzi.
I don’t know the other girl. But I already know of ZJM from a little thing called first love. She is a good actor with huge range. I love her in Reset, Growing Pains and one week friends. Love her in Her other recent dramas TPR and Amidst a snowstorm of love. She seems kind and down to earth and friendly with cast members too.
Uh why is everyone talking about this as if it’s a fact? I mean we don’t know whether this is real or rumor. I think they’re both beautiful and talented
