C-actor Fu Xin Bo to Replace Deng Lun in Long Completed iQiyi Drama Night Wanderer with AI Faceswap — 15 Comments

  1. Like he has similar bone structure to Deng Lin but will his acting work out? I vaguely remember him in side roles but don’t remember him so well to back him up or pump him up as a good actor or not. But this is a good chance for him so guess we will see if he can rise to the occasion and make it count. It will be interesting to see how the Ai works out. That one drama with seven tian about brocade or something had the second lead face swapped and it worked out somehow but still felt odd and jarring at times but nevertheless it still was able to be managed even though that show was very mid due to odd editing of script and direction of story. Guess practice makes perfect but can you blame the Chinese drama industry, these scandals and controversies of actors comes with a harsher price in their country and unfortunately we have lost quite a lot of potentially good dramas due to it and the money and time too like good grief.

  2. I don’t quite understand why tax evasion an entertainment death sentence. It would seem more fair if they pay the penalty, serve their time, and be allowed back ☹️

Or make it a prospective ban. Seems like such a waste of all this effort to create a whole drama only to let it be shelved for so long. If CGI is involved, then it’ll just look even more dated.

    • Because it’s basically rich people avoiding tax. And it’s punishable by law, so he only can blame himself for being too greedy

    • I don’t think the censors are all that concerned about fairness. Tax evasion is a crime. China expects their celebs to be ‘morally’ upright and not criminals. Especially given this crime is a rich person robbing the people. Look at all those historicals in which the plot is catching corrupt officials who line their pockets at the expense of the people.

    • I see where both of you are coming from. A lot of Chinese philosophy also teaches forgiveness and second chances though 🫤 Ultimately, their country their rules. I guess this is prime example of FAFO. I mostly feel bad for other people who poured their time and effort into the work for it to never see the light of day or a weird AI-edited version of the original years later.

  3. oh no I didnt know about him opening another account and its banned afterwards… I actually had some hopes even if it was very little :c what a shame

  4. Fu xinbo can act,but visually I don’t like him, too old, lacking in style and refinement he’s more rough and coarse.

  5. Honestly, how this face-swap AI work? Isn’t it still Deng Lun’s acting tho instead FXB? Feel not fair for both actors….

    • Either this or refilm with him which is just as expensive or give up and throw it in an abyss never to be heard of again. Plus they probably could afford to try something or they would not attempt Ai in the first place. It’s been done in other dramas so far with side character with scandals and trouble. Normally they try to edit the side characters out of not so much screen time but since it is the main character. So it’s not impossible. At the same time no big name actor would risk it. So it is not surprising they chose the actor mentioned above. He has nothing to lose since he is not as famous and is more affordable. Sucks but it is what it is.

  6. Ni Ni Ni Ni… it’s impossible but kinda hope one day my fave actor will work with her. Both have skill and I guarantee their chemistry will explode my screen like woaaah!

  7. Wow I was really hoping this would just get airdropped. Ni Ni has amazing chemistry with Deng Lun in the trailer. The face swap is going to be a major distraction. I wish they would just air already in the can dramas and just penalize the person in question with fines and removal of any ads or sponsorships. It makes no sense to make everyone else suffer because of one person.
