Hong Sisters Next K-drama with Lee Do Hyun and Go Min Si Reveals Title of Grand Galaxy and Will Air on Netflix — 8 Comments

  1. Lee Do Hyun boasts of a wide spectrum with great depth in his acting career.
He had little screen time in his breakthrough drama ( Hotel del Luna ), yet he was able to steal the show with an impactful & impressive role of a Royal Guard, Go Cheong Myeong.
The critically acclaimed 18 Again was his first lead role, he could captivate the audiences impeccably & won few rookie awards. He would earn a title of ” Melo King ” for a timeless & beautiful drama in Youth of May. Last year, he had a mega hit for his debut movie (Exhuma) with a jaw dropping role- Bong-gil, a hot & sexy shaman. He shot it concurrently with the cuddly cute & warm 7 yr old Choi Kang Ho in The Good Bad Mother, handsome & emotionless neohuman in Sweet Home S3.
He’s consistent & versatile in all his brilliant works with the capability to embody the toughest & most diverse characters for different genres. Thus I ain’t surprise he is a well sought-after talent in the Korean entertainment industry for romantic comedies, dark fantasies, occult & also intense melodramas. His performances are always tied to a lasting impression with compelling storytelling, excellent & exceptional acting.

    • Very good summary of his resume. I’ve been on the ride to binge his dramas. I love to see him more on screen.

  3. I hope this one has a happy ending because I am still traumatized by Youth of May. They had great chemistry together, and they are both good actors, so I am hoping for the best.

  4. I don’t think this is space-themed. I’m making a guess that the “galaxy” in the hotel’s name and drama’s title is a play on the name of Lee Do-hyun’s character. Man-wol’s name means “full moon” in Chinese and it’s reflected in the name present of her hotel, so I’m thinking the male lead is Sung-gye, which is “galaxy” in Chinese.

  5. LDH has irresistible charm on screen thanks to his wide acting range. He is not shy or overshadowed by many veteran actors around him in all his dramas I’ve watched so far. This one young actor is a born acting talent!!!!! The only exception that he failed to catch my attention is the Glory. But now I attribute his less impressive presence in the Glory to how his character was fleshed out in the plot that did not do justice to his talent. LDH somehow has knacks to turn an ordinary figure into someone intriguing to convince you of intriguing stories that you feel relatable. I love his acting style so far regardless of whether his drama is gratifying or not. That’s how impactful effective acting should be. I don’t need to enjoy his drama in order to appreciate his presence on screen. His charisma is enough to hook me through the end of a series.

Given more interesting scripts and fine directing something like Alchemy of Souls, LDH definitely will have a huge breakout success in popularity. His acting is already consistently stellar in 18 Again, Youth of May, Melancholia, and the Good Bad Mother that I’ve watched. Other fans can give more account for his acting chops in other projects like Exhuma. Nonetheless, I think what I have seen so far is sufficient for me to root for him to be a huge star in the years to come. I hope Hong Sisters’ script will not waste his talent if the casting news is true.

  6. I am stoked! Alchemy of Souls is in my top 5 and I expect anything put out by the Hong sisters with be fantastic. Can’t wait!
