Period C-drama Live Long and Prosper with Dylan Wang Finalizes Female Lead Li Qin and Reportedly to Start Filming End of this Month April

Well this went from must watch to likely will watch with the switch up of the female lead. Period C-drama Live Long and Prosper has basically inked Dylan Wang for the last two months and earlier on the female lead in talks as Dai Lu Wa after her breakout as the second female lead in Moonlight Mystique. It’s a big male lead centric IP story much like Dylan’s last drama Guardians of the Dafeng and the female lead there Tian Xi Wei accepted knowing that but later on didn’t like being a side piece and her fans hated it. Dai Lu Wa is still up and coming so this felt like a great next step for her but reportedly the production was concerned she isn’t as established and went talking to other actresses and now Li Qin has agreed to be the lead. Her side is fine with playing second fiddle to Dylan and she has a longer resume as female lead so there you have it. She’s fine but honestly really low charisma onscreen for me despite watching her in many a drama where I’m more interested in the male lead. This drama will reportedly start filming later this month at the end of April.
It would have been more intriguing with the other actress, but this pairing could work too.
Li Qin is the most fortunate female lead who acted with the most male idols… She started with Yang Yang.
This might be a blessing in disguise for Dai Lu Wa. She deserves a role where she’s the star and not second fiddle to a ML. So far all Li Qin’s dramas have been popular, thanks to the ML’s she’s costarred with she hasn’t a hit solely on her own.
To be honest, Dai Lu Wa should be above Li Qin’s pay grade, if we go by acting. It’s not her loss that she’s not headlining this next to Dylan. It’s Dylan’s. I can’t understand the production team. I don’t believe Li Qin commands that much reception, even with her resume? At the very least, Dai Lu Wa has proven she can act and has chemistry with her leads. A much better choice over all.
