C-ent Screenwriter Publicly Accuses Bai Lu of Using Her Clout to Remove Her From the Script of Recently Premiered C-drama The First Jasmine — 15 Comments

  1. I’m only following this series to see how Ryan Cheng fares. The plot isn’t brilliantly scripted either. If they had to rewrite the script because the original was bad, I can’t even imagine how terrible the original must have been! Lol. Bai Lu looks prettier here than in her previous dramas IMO, but she brings the exact same aura from character to character and show to show. While the heroine of this story seems to be an interesting character on paper, BL is just playing herself instead of acting to bring the heroine to life. I feel like I’m watching the exact same BL from her prior dramas all over again. lol

I want to see RC more. But more screen time is given to BL that makes the story less interesting all thanks to her bland acting. It’s a shame.

  2. Maybe this Meng Qiqi should just post up her version of the script so we can compare?

I feel it fishy to blame it all on Bai Lu. The director has quite a lot of well-known works under her belt and was, once upon a time, a screenwriter herself. I can easily see her having a strong vision for this drama adaptation and is pickier with the writing. The new writer doing the rewrite has worked with the director before.

Not that such things as underhanded rewrites to pander to certain actors’ demands can’t happen, but it seems weird in this scenario. Feels like this screenwriter is using Bai Lu’s name to get attention.

  3. I’m all hyped to watch this drama after reading the novel but I was dismayed. The novel is more interesting, some parts are same but they change it a lot.

  4. This drama is flopping, as expected.

Anyway, Bai Lu has much bigger problems than this. The actor title, Running man, etc.

  5. Bai Lu did meddle with the script of Untouchable Lovers so its easy to blame it on her. But I see it all as just marketing since Bai Lu and Yu Zheng are known for using noise marketing to promote her works.

The drama is quite boring and imo, underwhelming. I expected it to be at least The Demon Hunter Romance’s level of interesting. Bai Lu’s acting is the same old. I think she should stop taking on costume drama roles for awhile because she can’t differentiate between her characters anymore.

  6. I totally disagree. I’m really liking this drama a lot. It is slower pace, but I’m glad it lacks all the unnecessary drama with little su stance plots. It’s heart warming and seems to have a lot back story. Characters are also not perfectly good or evil, makes them seem more real and complicated. Im hooked.

  7. I honestly don’t care about the screenwriter drama because who knows the truth, impossible to tell. BUT i have to say that bai lu has unfortunately been added to my list of actresses whose dramas i skip. when she started out she seemed to have passion and was so so beautiful. she was a mesmerizing actress. but the past like 4 years every single character is the same. not even just the way they’re written, but she acts in the exact same way every time. the dramas are bland and unfortunately so is her acting. such a shame. she must just be burnt out or something because she really doesn’t seem like she cares anymore.

  8. doesnt make sense
if the script is good, the artist will love it
why use the power to replace her?
but if the script is bad…then off course she have the right to ask for her to be replaced
who want to fail due to bad script?

  9. the best Bailu drama is the with Allen ren historical drama, I cant remember the exact name– I got frustrated with the ending seriously, not re watchable due to ending too tragic for my taste. Her acting and allen ren were excellent, but after that drama– it seems her next drama character become a copy paste– not much different, may be her makeup but yeah– not watching this drama live, but I will try after it finished live airing.

    • Yes! I feel the exact same. One and Only is the last drama of hers that I really enjoyed. Everything after that has been a miss.

    • I like Story of Kunning Palace too but its because of the plot. She looked so ugly in there and her acting was bad, for someone who is apparently the most beautiful woman surrounded by 3 men obsessed with her.

  10. I agree with some of the others. I just don’t feel the need to watch bai Lu Dramas anymore. The last drama of hers I watched was story of kunning Palace and I didn’t get what everyone was raving about and neither did I get then “chemistry” btw her and ZLH. As Others have noticed she is very pretty, but always the same In her shows. Like you can’t even tell she’s playing a different character. Anyway, it’s not that I dislike her. I just don’t feel the need to watch her shows anymore. Maybe she needs to take a break do a different genre like action, crime or something

  11. the scriptwriter and director are very competent and experienced people, the drama is turning out well, the acting is better than expected and the story is detailed. not sure why people are so pissed, the “original” writer is clearly stirring up drama on purpose and using bai lu’s name for publicity. clearly bullshit to anyone with a brain

  12. Bai Lu deserves it. She’s a cheap woman who is always shaking her butt on douyin with her bad singing and dancing. Now her acting is horrible and repeititve too and her face looks haggard and manly. She should stop doing costume dramas and leave it to real beauties like Song Zuer.
