A new C-drama in being prepped and I’m rather surprised these two are in discussions for it for multiple reasons. The drama is a period legal drama titled Legally Ladies (Chinese title Dao Bi Niang Zi 刀笔娘子) and is about how women in olden times can be as dangerous and powerful with a pen as with a sword. The leads currently being floated is Wu Jin Yan and Chen Zhe Yuan, who already filmed a period C-drama together titled Jiang Shan Wei Pin 江山为聘 that hasn’t aired yet. So reuniting these two even before confirmation that their first pairing is a success feels rather premature. Not to mention with the slowdown in the number of drama productions there are tons of even bigger name stars on breaks between dramas that could be a bigger sure bet to cast in this drama. But if I were either of these two, unless they hated working together the first go around there is no reason to turn this down when dramas are harder to come by.
