Wu Jin Yan and Chen Zhe Yuan May Reunite for New Period C-drama Legally Ladies Even Before Their First Drama Airs
A new C-drama in being prepped and I’m rather surprised these two are in discussions for it for multiple reasons. The drama is a period legal drama titled Legally Ladies (Chinese title Dao Bi Niang Zi 刀笔娘子) and is about how women in olden times can be as dangerous and powerful with a pen as with a sword. The leads currently being floated is Wu Jin Yan and Chen Zhe Yuan, who already filmed a period C-drama together titled Jiang Shan Wei Pin 江山为聘 that hasn’t aired yet. So reuniting these two even before confirmation that their first pairing is a success feels rather premature. Not to mention with the slowdown in the number of drama productions there are tons of even bigger name stars on breaks between dramas that could be a bigger sure bet to cast in this drama. But if I were either of these two, unless they hated working together the first go around there is no reason to turn this down when dramas are harder to come by.

This looks like another female centric drama. Is billing thief Chen Zheyuan gonna convert his profession to screentime thief now that billing is removed?

CZY can actually act, especially compared to many other C-drama leading robots who only ever impress me with their overdone makeup, lol. I’ll check out this drama for his sake and decide whether it’s worth sticking with based on the script and the directing.
Their new drama started today. Seems very scheming sort of storyline. Meaning a lot of annoying characters doing underhanded things like ping pong and watching how main leads fight tooth and nail to overcome it all. I watched the first episode and seems okay so far but will wait till it finishes because the stress of such storylines is too much for me when done live lol.
This is really good! Strong ML and FL with intriguing plot. Beats all the fake female empowerment dramas like Ashes of Crown and Blossoms of Power where the FL appears strong but is just focused on romance.
