So a new drama is off casting and this one appears to be happening. Industry insiders are saying that Zhang Jing Yi and Chen Zhe Yuan will be pairing up for the romance period C-drama Flower in Novoland (Chinese title Xie Luo 缬罗),. In the earlier days the male lead may have been Song Wei Long but now it’s moved on to Chen Zhe Yuan. She will be playing a blind princess character and Zhang Jing Yi has been seen practicing sign language already. I actually like this casting, the two could be well suited for onscreen visuals and chemistry. However, insiders are saying the production has not finalized the billing order between the two leads and may start shooting in November when production begins without that confirmed and deal with it later.

Actually, except Hu Yitian, most of her previous co-stars are decent to pretty good actors: Chen Feiyu, Peng Yuchang, Qu Chuxiao, Tan Jianci, Chen Xingxu, Yin Fang, Niu Junfeng…
I don’t know some of the actors you listed, but it’s funny the original commenter said this when some of her costars notably Peng Yuchang, Chen Xingxu, and Tan Jianci are known for their acting and much better actors than her.
From what I’ve seen of them as actors I can say that PYC, QCX, TJC, CXX and NJF are so much better actors than ZJY.
I’ll watch this for Zhang Jingyi. Her getting cast in more period dramas is a good thing for me. Chen Zheyuan’s acting is fine; just hope he doesn’t create more billing issues

Personally, I think this guy is one of the biggest bubbles in C-ent right now. Overhyped because of one drama, and not even that good-looking. However, I am not against watching his dramas and he may still prove me wrong.

She’s very pretty without looking too made up, she can act but of course can be better, but I find her more likable than a lot of older more established actresses solely because she has a face i think is likable.
I think she looks fine. I don’t know what the big fuss is. It is a fantasy drama. At least she doesn’t look hippy frumpy like she did in The Flame’s Daughter. That was horrible styling!

I’ll be interested in checking out this drama if ZJY and CZY pair together. These two have potential to deliver convincing chemistry. Some of so called “better” actors than ZJY mentioned in the comments above have their unique acting styles but acted like in a one-man show while being not convincing when their FLs were present. LOL. Chen Xingxu, for example, did a terrible job with fairly awkward acting in his drama with ZJY. He was the one turning me off from that period drama.
CXX carried that show with the older veterans while the rest of the cast were acting like they were F4 and ZJY only had two expressions yet couldn’t even shed believable tears when the love of her life might die LMAO this is how I know your opinion’s a joke.
