Guardians of the Dafeng Wins Influential Drama of the Year at 2025 Weibo Summit and Confirms Second Season with Dylan Wang Returning — 9 Comments

  1. It’s one of the most viewed dramas this year adding along the numerous ads so it makes sense it made money. I also enjoyed watching it esp towards the end where it became heavy with emotions.

I wonder which one would start first though, the S2 or the other rumoured drama which seems likely confirmed for Dylan Wang as well.

  2. Lmao most influential. Weibo gives this to those who pay for it. See Luo Yunxi getting one for best actor, in a year where he had no dramas.

  3. I read based on novel material most of the story will be centered on his birth father who may be the true villain of the story. And since the last season had everyone’s memory wiped out and that there will be some time skipped who’s to say if most or all actors from season one will return. The female actress has been quite busy getting new roles lately so if she is not busy who knows maybe she will return but I somehow have doubts as well if she will return. Joy of Life did a pretty ok job in returning with most cast in tact. Hopefully this drama can aswell. The last season had such an interesting cliff hanger that I hope it comes sooner than later.

  4. If season 2 won’t be as cheesy full of slapstick as season 1, and Dylan Wang will be dubbed by a good voice actor, I may watch. I don’t dislike DW. But I found his own dubbing awkward for costume settings. I can tolerate his own voice and lines in modern dramas like Only for Love. But for costume dramas, I expect actors to exude certain aura for which line reciting is an important factor. Similarly for actresses in costume dramas, mannerism should not be the same as in modern setting. Some ladies just aren’t up to par, not becoming for costume settings from this perspective, e.g., Liu Yuxiao. The unflattering mannerism and presentation of leading actors in all these aspects will turn me off from a costume drama.

    Perhaps, Dylan has already improved?
