C-ent Screenwriter Publicly Accuses Bai Lu of Using Her Clout to Remove Her From the Script of Recently Premiered C-drama The First Jasmine
I dunno, this seems like great buzz either way for the C-drama The First Jasmine lol. It’s petty and probably frequently happens in the entertainment industry if true, and if not it still gives a lot more attention to the drama. One day after premiering, a screenwriter Meng Qiqi publicly attacked female lead Bai Lu online, accusing her of behind the scenes power play that got the writer removed from the drama. The writer claimed that her original script was what got the drama greenlit but once filming started she was removed and the script rewritten, and now in the airing her name not associated with the script. Yu Zheng has come out to say that no such thing happened, Bai Lu did nothing and the change in screenwriter was at the request of the director who said it needed to be rewritten (i.e. implication original script sucked). This isn’t a cut and dry case as netizens are split, some say this screenwriter is known for being a shit stirrer and also embellisher, and others say the power behind the scenes could make her allegations true but that’s still how the chips fall in this world.

Yu Zheng step up to speak for Bai Lu? Must be the investors asking him to do so.
I’m only following this series to see how Ryan Cheng fares. The plot isn’t brilliantly scripted either. If they had to rewrite the script because the original was bad, I can’t even imagine how terrible the original must have been! Lol. Bai Lu looks prettier here than in her previous dramas IMO, but she brings the exact same aura from character to character and show to show. While the heroine of this story seems to be an interesting character on paper, BL is just playing herself instead of acting to bring the heroine to life. I feel like I’m watching the exact same BL from her prior dramas all over again. lol
I want to see RC more. But more screen time is given to BL that makes the story less interesting all thanks to her bland acting. It’s a shame.
