K-ent Industry Insiders Vote on Worst K-drama of 2026 and Royal Romance Drama Perfect Crown with IU and Byun Woo Seok Leading the Ignominious List
Huge budget and huge buzz before airing K-drama Perfect Crown may have just won the the award for biggest fall from grace. The drama was one slated to be the biggest hit of 2026 based on casting leads IU and Byun Woo Seok and the whole set up with rich chaebol heiress and crown prince was just crafted in a drama script lab to lure in female viewers. Alas the drama was all flash with no substance and then got hit with a protest over historical inaccuracies and offending Korean history. K-ent veterans clearly agree and with a runaway 45 votes has been slapped as the worst K-drama of this year. Coming in second a long ways behind is a tie with The Scandal and Our Sticky Love each getting 9 votes apiece, though I wonder if Sticky Love’s female lead family history scandal played any part in it being considered up there in bad. Third place is also a tie with Four Hands, Two Sonatas and medical drama Dr. Shin each getting 8 votes. And rounding out the top five is A Love Other Than Yours with 6 votes and then Boyfriend on Demand with 4 votes. So here you go, an easy roundup of the K-dramas to skip this year.
Perfect crown was not that bad though. It was watchable though the story was a bit odd with how they tried to transition with from being royalty to no more royalty. The ending felt so preachy on government stuff. Other than that it was not bad. His acting though was a miss for me more than others. It felt like a bad attempt to make another success like Princess Hours. Honestly though I did not flow with Our Sticky Love… it was just an odd story maybe more so because of the way they used the amnesia trope. My favorite amnesia trope would be 100 day my prince and only this drama made it work for me. The rest I never heard of. But I’m surprised that was it because there are a few stinkers out there besides these dramas. Guess they had more impact.
Our sticky love wasn’t that bad either. It was entertaining for the least. It’s jist the female lead’s acting was kind of cringey and I don’t find the pair to have chemistry or visually compatible.
