There are way worse rookie rides than Chang Hua Sen in last year’s wuxia C-drama A Journey to Love, he had the visuals in terms of height and looks and his acting was earnest in that trying too hard way. The problem was his character as the lovelorn younger disciple with the one-sided love towards his master who was the … Continue reading →
I’m still rather perplexed that I went from nope to liking C-actress Wu Jin Yan thanks to one drama, but then that is the beauty of acting and of viewers keeping an open mind. You never know who may suddenly wow you. She recently celebrated her 34th birthday this week and in C-ent that’s like near ancient age unless she’s … Continue reading →
So the backstage fighting with period C-drama Dashing Youth is more interesting to me than the drama itself lol. This wasn’t a big budget drama and premiered right during the Olympics so it was clear Youku wasn’t banking much on it. The earlier buzz was high enough to be promising but quickly lost steam and stayed low-ish through it’s just … Continue reading →
We are hours away from the premiere of new rom-com K-drama Love Next Door (Mom’s Best Friend’s Son) and I am so ready for it! Leads Jung Hae In and Jung So Min are in the latest edition of Elle Korea in a couple’s pictorial that isn’t anything new when it comes to K-drama OTP pictorials but once again they … Continue reading →
There is a new development with fantasy romance drama Human Starting From Today. It was originally offered to Shin Se Kyung but it appears that will not happen and K-ent is reporting that Kim Hye Yoon is now considering the role of the loving life gumiho female lead. The male lead remains Park Solomon (Lomon) and I like this pairing … Continue reading →
A happy news out of TW-ent this week with actress Joanne Tseng and entertainer Calvin Chen announcing that they are expecting their first child. The couple has been married since 2020 in what was a total surprise announcement back then as well, no one even knew they were dating. The couple shared the news of the pregnancy with Joanne posting … Continue reading →
The summer is soon heading into the final weeks as schools begin right after the lazy dog days are over. C-actress Wu Jin Yan was IMO one of the few big winners in the summer of 2024 C-drama sweepstakes, her drama The Double kicked off the season in June and remains of the buzziest airings for the last two months. … Continue reading →
So the Suga drunk driving (or drunk riding an electric moped) incident in South Korea shows no signs of simmering down. This week there has been funeral wreaths sent by angry BTS fans to the HYBE office demanding Suga’s removal from the group. A huge BTS fan site also shut down abruptly by the administrators, and a news report was … Continue reading →
The Fall fashion issues of top magazines are starting to be released and K-actress Song Hye Kyo continues her streak of landing these big covers. She’s in Elle Korea looking very cool and post-modern which is a hard look to pull off but I think she does very well here. She’s still do dainty and doll like but has added … Continue reading →
It’s been a busy summer for C-actress Ju Jing Yi, coming off a solidly successful spring C-drama airing of In Blossom. In June her long time agency announced she was going to re-sign with them but she stated it was news to her, and then announced she was not going to re-sign. She then set up her own personal office … Continue reading →
It’s funny how timing changes everything, if this casting had happened shortly after K-drama Start-Up finished aired it would have caused such excitement and shockwaves. Now it just feels like a shrug moment, but still one that I would be curious to see if it ends up producing a good drama. Suzy has been signed on for the period K-drama … Continue reading →
Striking while the iron is hot also means picking the right hills to die on the right now C-actor Deng Wei is looking very foolish after squandering his big break last summer. When Lost You Forever Part 1 was released in summer of 2023, his male lead character Tu Shan Jing was very well liked and his performance garnered a … Continue reading →
I most recall soju brands putting their spokesmodel actress or idol starlet on the bottles labels in addition to the brand advertising and it definitely sells well. K-actor Byun Woo Seok will now have his face on a pack of Paldo instant noodles the Paldo Bibimmyeon II that looks like chapaghetti with more dried veggies in it. Paldo announced that the … Continue reading →
