Yoo Seung Ho as the Celestial Jade Emperor! That is all. You may carry on now. Arang and the Magistrate has been anything but stingy when it came to releasing teasers, stills, and behind-the-scenes goodies when it came to leads Lee Jun Ki and Shin Mina. I’m totally not complaining, but I’ve been waiting for what feels like a bajillion … Continue reading →
To the Beautiful You just released its first energetic teaser and to my non-surprise, I like it! I have this weird relationship with dramas adapted from mangas, don’t ask. Even the hot mess Boys Before Flowers kept me riveted during its live airing, and I adored Playful Kiss for its slow burn not much happens mellowness. Beautiful You is the K-version of … Continue reading →
So the written preview for episode 15 of Big tells us who was awake at the end of episode 14, so if you want to stay unspoiled then avoid it at all costs. I swear I wrote my hypothesis before this preview was released, so if I’m right then my streak continues, and if I’m wrong then I happily sit … Continue reading →
I’m been trying hard not to keep speculating about who woke up at the end of episode 14 of Big, despite my post-recap assertion that it was most likely Yoon Jae. But my Big love got the better of me, that and the niggling sensation that there might be proof of who it was based on clues hidden in the … Continue reading →
Arriving on a cloud of candy colored cuteness, the upcoming TW-drama Miss Rose is gearing up for a Sunday premiere with a full on media push starting with the cast attending a blind date event for the fans. Erh, I’m assuming there is probably a gender imbalance since I doubt there are an equal amount of male fans of dramas, … Continue reading →
Oh goodness with a side of Mexican jumping beans, why does Gong Yoo and the production of Big want to stick an extra long knife into my heart AND twist it around for good measure? KBS just announced that, aside from cast member Suzy contributing a track to the Big OST, the drama’s most awesome we-are-not-worthy male lead Gong Yoo will … Continue reading →
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the maestro of crazy himself producer-screenwriter Yu Zheng just dropped a nuclear bombshell on his upcoming adaptation of Yun Zhong Ge. With rumors flying that Tangren’s Da Mo Yao won’t get the green light to air unless it changes the ending (to align with history), plus Yu Zheng’s own dramas The … Continue reading →
Upcoming SBS drama The Secret Lovers (the drama adaptation of 7th Level Civil Servant) has been thrown into uncertainty with news that both leading men candidates Lee Dong Gun and Kim Nam Gil have turned down the project. Luckily for the network, it has another drama already cast and slated to start production in August, which might be perfect for … Continue reading →
I should call episode 14 of Big: tears, fears, and emotional jawdrops. After a dizzying episode 13 full of machinations and revelations, Big returned to form today with an episode that was beautifully heartfelt. Kyung Jae and Da Ran talked, and talked, and talked some more, even if sometimes they said angry and contrary things neither meant. But in the … Continue reading →
I know episode 13 of Big gave the majority of viewers a collective hernia. Strangely I was nonplussed, probably cuz I had faith the Hong Sisters were using a collection of drama angst tropes merely as a set up, and would wind the drama down the same way they built it up, with tenderness and patience. Episode 14 validated my … Continue reading →
Do you all remember when I posted about Lee Seung Gi performing K-Will‘s “Love is Crying” from The King 2 Hearts OST at his Budokan concert in Japan last month? The ripped version we got to hear is in no way, shape, or form able to capture the sheer raw emotion of the song as recorded properly. Luckily for us, … Continue reading →
Going once, going twice, sold to the Koala with a boatload of reservations. The third teaser for Faith, the upcoming time-traveling medical sageuk starring Lee Min Ho and Kim Hee Sun, has finally convinced the skeptical me of its charm. I loved this teaser! Beyond breathtaking cinematography makes me eager to just feast my eyes on the visual splendor, and … Continue reading →
When Gong Yoo cries, I cry. Its days like this that make me wish I was just an ordinary drama watcher without the recapping stint on the side. Writing about episode 13 of Big is challenging, because the story went into hyperdrive at the same time all the emotions exploded from all sides until I feel fairly suffocated with hurt … Continue reading →
