The new promos for Legend of the Female General bodes well for the insider chatter that Tencent will release it in August 2025. That’s less than two months from now, but six months longer than the originally scheduled February release that was scuttled due to the scandal and alleged misconduct by the supporting male lead. He’s since been AI-face swapped … Continue reading →
Production has officially started on Tencent produced romance C-drama Biao Mei Wan Fu (表妹万福) adapted from the same name novel with the translated English title of Wishing You Eternal Happiness by writer Peng Lai Ke. The leads are Song Zu Er and Chen Xin Hai, as rumored from the last few weeks. And the vibe is very demure and sweet … Continue reading →
I like to think Gong Hyo Jin accepted that horrifyingly bad K-drama When the Stars Gossip solely to pass the time filming while her husband Kevin Oh was doing his military service. I still can’t understand how she read the script and thought it was a good story otherwise. But it’s in the past now and her future is back … Continue reading →
Their first drama together got only mid reception and reviews but both have since become more popular so this reunion project is a promising possibility. C-ent casting is saying that period C-drama Xing Zhi Wan 行止晚 is now in serious talks with Zhou Ye as the female lead and she has indicated strong likelihood of accepting. The male lead has … Continue reading →
I have no one to blame but myself for watching all of Feud. I don’t like male lead Zeng Shun Xi and xianxia dramas are not my typical jam, and Bai Lu alone who I love is never enough for me to watch her dramas solely for her. And yet it happened, this was one perplexing drama I could not … Continue reading →
The period C-drama Tigers Sniff the Rose has been sniffing around for a male lead for months and this weekend it’s reportedly going to confirm the cast. The big budget Tencent produced period drama has the Chinese title 尚公主 Shang Gong Ju or Princess Shang and earlier this year was reportedly in talks with Zhang Ling He. A new xianxia C-drama is confirmed this week and filming will commence shortly. It’s a Tencent and iQiyi joint production titled Lai Zhan (translated as Coming Battle) and will star Ju Jing Yi and Zhang Yun Long. So last week the casting for this drama was a different male lead but since then it’s changed and now confirmed so luckily no more changes. iQiyi today announced that Yu Shu Xin and Wang An Yu will be the leads for wuxia period drama A Journey to Glow, a companion piece to the 2023 C-drama A Journey to Love. … Continue reading →
The cast has been assembled and what’s left is to see how exactly a live action K-drama version of manhwa Remarried Empress will turn out. The over/under on hot mess versus unexpectedly compelling starts now. That it could even be good comes from a strong and very famous foursome cast of Shin Mina, Lee Jong Seok, Joo Ji Hoon, and … Continue reading →
I don’t know who is managing Hou Ming Hao‘s career because he’s had a string of female leads that are either considered weak actresses or on the rise and not much help to bring in viewers. There was Chen Du Ling pre The Glory in Fangs of Fortune, then Lu Yu Xiao in Love in the Clouds, then he just … Continue reading →
For those waiting for C-actress Zhao Lu Si to come back to the small screen the wait may be over. There is scheduling rumors that Tencent will release Love’s Ambition at the end of this month in June. The drama stars Lu Si with William Chan and from the promos sounds like a dueling emotion and wits romance between the … Continue reading →
A new K-drama is being cast and this one at least on paper sounds interesting and potentially thrilling. Webtoon A Bona Fide Killer is getting a live action adaptation and in talks for the leads are Gong Hyo Jin and Jung Joon Won. It’s the story about a killer for hire who gets married to a reporter and after being … Continue reading →
Well this drama certainly looks better visually than I anticipated. Youku released the first character posters for its currently filming period C-drama Qiao Chu, 翘楚 which is an idiom that means a person of great talent. The drama got more news during the casting phase of leads Chen Du Ling and Zhou Yi Ran for the online fandom fight over … Continue reading →
