Cable network tvN started off 2025 with a giant turkey that was mega budget sci-fi drama When the Stars Gossip, but has now found redemption with what is being called the best reviewed terrestrial K-drama of this year so far midway through. When Life Gives You Tangerines was the critical and audience fave banger on streaming platform Netflix but now … Continue reading →
So Song Kang being in the military has totally been out of sight out of mind for me. He was ubiquitous in drama after drama for the three years prior to enlisting and most of them with Netflix, garnering him the nickname of Netflix’s Son. He was always serviceable for me but I agree that he’s not a strong actor, … Continue reading →

Last weeks Tencent Drama Festival showcased over a dozen to-come C-dramas so it’s taking me awhile to catch up and post about the ones that interest me. There is a reason I hate buffets, most of the time it’s quantity over quality but even when it’s all quality I still feel like I can’t enjoy stuff because I’ve got too much of it to consume. It feels like a buffet of C-dramas right now and yet another one has premiered with the arrival on June 26th of … Continue reading →

So the recently aired xianxia C-drama Feud left me massively frustrated but at the plot and less at the leads. I still have a soft spot for Bai Lu and saw that she really tried hard and mostly delivered, at times it did feel like she was playing a prior performance I’ve seen before before but it also felt like … Continue reading →
The most likely to be a hit C-drama among the four premiering within the last ten days of June 2025 this month is here, and I’m talking about The Princess’s Gambit premiering today June 25th. Viewers have eyes and we can see onscreen and offscreen star chemistry (or lack thereof) clear as day. So from the first trailer released of Tencent period romance C-drama Chasing Jade with Zhang Ling He and Tian Xi Wei last month it’s clear the leads have loads of chemistry in character. But this week as the two attended a Tencent … Continue reading →
