If feels like Dylan Wang‘s name is attached to every third C-drama big budget project in development and that’s not too far off from the reality. He’s just a buzzy star and still bankable and has his pick of many high profile scripts. This week there is casting news that Hunan TV is looking to sign him paired with Wang … Continue reading →
I wrote last week that the drama adaptation of period romance and revenge C-novel The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage was still going to star rumored most recent leads Dylan Wang and Meng Zi Yi. Despite both their fandoms disliking the other star cast, the production isn’t swayed and still wants them. But one of the sticking … Continue reading →
I feel like Dylan Wang fans were trying to manifest this but alas the power of fandom to effect casting decisions isn’t nearly as common as the C-fans like to believe it to be. Last month there was movement on the C-drama adaptation of novel The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage with new talks that the leads would be Dylan … Continue reading →
I have so many feels on the upcoming C-drama adaptation of the popular revenge and romance period novel The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage. Now it’s becoming more and more certain that the leads will indeed be Dylan Wang and Meng Zi Yi and the two fandoms are already in furor in hating the casting of the … Continue reading →
Well this probably means the original run of period C-drama Guardians of the Dafeng made Tencent plenty of money otherwise they wouldn’t keep this going. This week the drama won Influential Drama of the Year a the 2025 Weibo Summit. When accepting the award, the producer announced that the drama was confirmed for a second season and will kick off … Continue reading →
So for the last six months or so word within C-ent was that the production of The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage was going to get Dilraba Dilmurat as the female lead. That would make it an S++ level production and female lead centric. But that apparently isn’t going to happen due to her schedule and other … Continue reading →
So C-ent is going crazy with the third Tian Xi Wei male lead to also have a romance scandal. In the span of three weeks it was future male lead Hu Yi Tian from Genius Girlfriend, then current male lead Xu Kai in Moonlit Reunion, and now it’s her last male lead Dylan Wang in Guardians of the Dafeng. Come … Continue reading →
There’s a very fun casting melon that came up this week and I for one would love to see this pairing. Song Zu Er has been in talks for the Tencent Republic era period C-drama Ah Zhi Ah Zhi adapted from the same name novel and now the platform wants Dylan Wang as the male lead. If he joins the … Continue reading →
I continue to marvel at how much pull C-actor Dylan Wang has with any new project. He’s attached and it just rockets up interest and the daipai (photogs) on set pile on to produce copious amounts of pictures from any drama he’s filming. Mango TV streaming and Hunan TV terrestrial airing period C-drama Live Long and Prosper (εΈι±Όι£ε Salted Fish … Continue reading →
I appreciate Hunan TV for making the effort to kick off super early promos for its currently filming C-drama Live Long and Prosper. This is a big male lead IP project with top billed Dylan Wang along with Li Qin as the female lead. The teaser poster and preview just released is understated with artistic flourishes, I like it a … Continue reading →
Well this went from must watch to likely will watch with the switch up of the female lead. Period C-drama Live Long and Prosper has basically inked Dylan Wang for the last two months and earlier on the female lead in talks as Dai Lu Wa after her breakout as the second female lead in Moonlight Mystique. It’s a big … Continue reading →
After watching the entire debacle that is When the Stars Gossip recently, space and sci-fi is currently on my shit list or at least has made me intensely wary of it especially coming out of Asian productions. China will be airing a big budget space and sci-fi movie this July during the summer season titled Per Aspera Ad Astra is … Continue reading →
Another period C-novel is getting an adaptation its called The Adventure of Jian Chou (Chinese title Wo Bu Cheng Xian ζδΈζδ» or I am Not an Immortal). Despite Dylan Wang being rumored for two other dramas, this one is also courting him as the male lead so the boy has no shortage of scripts to pick from. The female lead … Continue reading →
